  • Patent number: 9637207
Abstract: The invention provides a tool (4) for cleaning surfaces subsea, comprising a body having a cleaning face (11) for holding against and preferably also moving along the surface to be cleaned, the face has a shape convex or corresponding to the surface to be cleaned, and a means for distance control of the cleaning face of the body such that a gap is provided between said face and the surface (3) to be cleaned when the tool is in operation, and/or openings or channels are arranged for allowing surrounding water to flow in towards the center of the cleaning face. Further, the cleaning face comprises a suction outlet for water, debris and contamination, in operation the outlet (13) is connected to a suction device (17) so that water, debris and contamination is drawn into the outlet for transport to further treatment.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 3, 2011
Date of Patent: May 2, 2017
Inventors: Tor Mikal Ostervold, Sten Terje Ostervold
  • Patent number: 8794251
Abstract: The washing apparatus employs a cup with integrated channels for the supply of fluid to integrated spraying nozzles arranged around the rim of the cup and with a central outlet at the top of the cup for removal of fluid and fouling material.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 18, 2009
Date of Patent: August 5, 2014

  • Publication number: 20110100400
Abstract: A method is described for loosening and removing fouling material from surfaces lying under water with a washing tool in the form of a frame construction with a number of washing apparatus that are brought to the surface and which is made to spray out a watery cleaning fluid to loosen fouling material and clean the surface, at the same time as each washing apparatus rotates and a mixture of fluid and fouling material is transported away for further treatment, and it is characterised in that a washing tool is applied where each washing apparatus is in the form of a cup with integrated channels for supply of fluid to integrated spraying nozzles (60) for the fluid around the rim edge (41) of the cup, and with a central outlet at the top of the cup for removal of fluid and fouling material, and the cleaning is carried out as follows: the construction is brought to the surface with the rim edge of the cup(s) a distance (A) from the surface (10), —a suction (a fluid dynamic under pressure) is established in the out
