  • Patent number: 5502991
Abstract: The lock cylinder comprises a cylinder body wherein a cylinder plug (1) comprising a slot (2) for the key (18) of the lock is rotatable arranged. The profile of the key slot and therefore also of the key is determined by profile forming elements in the form of rotation bodies (6,7) which are inserted in bores (4,5) extending through the cylinder plug (1) parallel to and adjacent to the middle plane (10) of the key slot (2). The profile elements (6,7) may be made of hardenable steel, for instance by turning, and may comprise a number of portions of different diameters so that the total number of key profiles obtainable becomes high while permitting the key profile to be made very thin and correspondingly difficult to copy.

  • Patent number: 5343724
Abstract: In a locking apparatus that utilizes bores and blocking pins along with key cards and code cards to unlock the lock, a master card key is employed with holes in all of the master card bores and balls are used instead of blocking pins.

  • Patent number: 4519228
Abstract: The publication relates to a lock system of the type which may be activated and/or recoded by means of a preferably plate formed key and/or recoding unit. The publication relates also to a method for recoding such system and to a key member for recoding the system. The lock system comprises a reading unit reading the code on the key and/or recoding unit, a unit comparing and memorizing the detected code and means for activating the mechanical parts of the lock thereby suspending its locking effect. The purpose of the system is to enable recoding of lock independent of a priority determined sequence of codes on the key and without being dependent of a centrally arranged memorizing unit, memorizing the various codes in sequence. The proposed effects are achieved by including a code section on the key member on to which a recoding command may be recorded.

  • Patent number: 4452059
Abstract: The present invention relates to a lock system comprising a lock of the type where the combination of the lock is given by a more or less platelike code member which may be removed and substituted and where the lock is operated by means of a more or less platelike key member. The key member is equipped with a code adapted to the code of the code member. The lock comprises a housing and means intended to be activated by the code of the code member and/or the code of the key member, said means reading the codes. Parts of the code on the key member may be read mechanically, using blocking pins while parts of the code may be read optically and/or electronically by means of light diodes emitting infrared light.

  • Patent number: 4149394
Abstract: Lock apparatus comprising a housing in which is movably supported a locking member for movement between locked and unlocked positions. The housing and locking member have aligned bores containing blocking pins supported for movement between a first position in which the locking member is movable relative to the housing and a second position in which the blocking pins block movement of the locking member relative to the housing. A plate-like key member and a plate-like code member are respectively insertable into slots provided in the housing. The bores in the housing and locking member are arranged in a predetermined pattern and the plate-like members have respective regions corresponding to the location of the bores in the pattern.
