  • Patent number: 6826942
Abstract: The apparatus for extrusion of material includes a process chamber provided in front of a die thereby serving to control parameters of the extrusion method. A die hold is provided to serve both as a structure for mounting a die in the front end of a hollow stem and a process chamber in front of a die. Preferably the process chamber is provided with structure for establishing resistance to the material to control the flow of material through the chamber. The control structure is adapted to serve both as a temperature regulating device for achieving an optimum temperature of the metal inside the process chamber and as a position controlling device for controlling the position of the metal inside the process chamber during the loading of a new billet.

  • Patent number: 6234088
Abstract: The invention relates to a single sheet pallet comprising an upwards facing loadbearing surface, the loadbearing surface having four side edges which two by two are essentially mutually parallel, four legs each of which is arranged at a respective corner of the loadbearing surface and extending downwards from this, and side flanges extending downwards from each of the four side edges. The invention further relates to an assembly comprising four such pallets, each pallet covering an area corresponding to one fourth of a standardized pallet, and further comprising a support element having a central cutout for one leg of each of the four pallets, and along the circumferential edge cutouts for the remaining three legs of each pallet, and means for connecting the support element to the pallets.

  • Patent number: 5596895
Abstract: The method and apparatus are utilized in the extrusion of profiles of material suitable for extrusion, such as metal or plastic. In the method of the invention, the temperature of the extruding product 10 is measured continuously and without contact immediately outside the extrusion outlet 7, and the data measured are used to adjust the said temperature to the effect that the temperature of the extruding product is maintained as constant as possible from one product to the next, whereby controlling devices 17, 18, 19 20, 21, 22 are provided to adjust the extrusion pressure on the basis of a calculation of the values measured and to check the quality of the profile and the geometric dimension for comparison with the predetermined values.

  • Nut
    Patent number: 4749318
Abstract: A nut intended for being retained in a blind hole is provided with a number of lips (11) extending from the cylindrical part (1) of the nut and forming cutting edges (2) which extend most at the upper corner. When these edges (2) are turned in the direction of rotation (10) of the nut when a bolt (5) is being tightened, they will cut further into the wall of the hole. The result is a downturned force which will contribute to securing the nut in the object, and the bolt (5) will not be capable of loosening because the material (6) will be wedged in between the bolt (5) and the lip (11). If the nut is to be withdrawn from the hole, this is most easily done by turning the nut in the opposite direction at the same time while being drawn out. This will cause no appreciable damage to the material in the rim area of the hole.

  • Patent number: 4610589
Abstract: A screw anchoring plug or bushing for use in predrilled mounting holes in elements of semihard materials such as chipboard, consisting of a sleeve made as a rolled up piece of metal sheet material provided with a number of slightly projecting barb-like tongue portions and cured to be resilient, whereby the tongue portions project as leaf springs. The sleeve is threaded for direct engagement with a standard screw, and when it is inserted in the mounting hole and the ends of the tongue portions are hereby caused to resiliently engage the wall of the hole, the sleeve will thereafter be moved axially outwardly when the screw is tightened, and the tongues will cut themselves into the hole wall and get spread to resist further retraction of the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4527299
Abstract: To manufacture a nut, a piece of plate material is bent to form a tube (9) which is placed over a mandrel (8) and clamped together around the mandrel, first by means of a pair of spring-loaded dowels (5) and thereafter by two clamping jaws 1, 2. The mandrel is then withdrawn, and a thread-forming tap (12) rotating in the direction of the thread is pressed in through the tube to produce an internal thread by deformation. When the tap has passed through the tube, the direction of rotation is reversed and the tap is screwed out again, after which the nut is finished. For cooling and lubrication, cutting oil is supplied to the tap before insertion into the tube and possibly to the inside of the tube. Alternatively, a tap with a shank (13) which functions as the mandrel (8) and has a threading piece (14) at one end can be used. After sliding the slotted tube onto the shank, the thread is formed when the tap is turned out of the tube, thereby avoiding having to turn the tap through the tube more than once.

  • Patent number: 4305504
Abstract: A sale packing of the blister type comprises a backing plate having undercut side edge recesses for receiving and holding opposed edge flange portions of a domed front cover. The backing plate along at least one edge is additionally provided with protruding edge flange operable to be received in one of the underout edge recesses of a similar backing plate of another corresponding packing by insertion of the edge flange for edgewise joining the two backing plates as separate elements perpendicular to each other. The four similar backing plates are joinable into a square tube element. The backing plates further have at least at one side thereof a number of ribs or grooves extends parallel with the backing plate side edges in such a manner that these ribs or grooves of opposed inner walls of square tube element are operable to support the opposed edge flange portions of one or more of the front covers to enable these as separate elements to be mounted in a drawer-like manner in the square tube element.
