  • Patent number: 6662892
Abstract: An air intake for a motorized vehicle, for obtaining a low radar and IR signature of a ballistically protected air intake (10) of the vehicle. The air intake (10) has a perforated armour plate (12) lying level with an outer bodywork plate (14) of the vehicle, and a fresh-air duct (18) which adjoins the inside of the perforated armour plate (12) and which has a fan (20) for sucking the fresh air necessary for running the vehicle into the duct via air intake openings (16) in the armour plate. A wall section (22) of the fresh-air duct (18) situated between the air intake openings (16) and a heat-generating source (24) in the vehicle is air-cooled.

Abstract: The invention relates to an air intake for a motorized vehicle, in particular for obtaining a low radar and IR signature of a ballistically protected air intake (10) of the vehicle. The air intake (10) has a perforated armor plate (12) lying level with an outer bodywork plate (14) of the vehicle, and a fresh-air duct (18) which adjoins the inside of the perforated armor plate (12) and which has a fan (20) for sucking the fresh air necessary for running the vehicle into the duct via air intake openings (16) in the armor plate. A wail section (22) of the fresh-air duct (18) situated between the air intake openings (16) and a heat-generating source (24) in the vehicle is air-cooled.

  • Patent number: 6385968
Abstract: The invention concerns an arrangement for a discharge system for combustion gases from a motor-driven vehicle which gives the vehicle a low IR signature. According to the invention, the gas outflow channel (28), at least in an area of the channel adjacent to the discharge aperture (32), has a boundary wall (34) which is perforated right up to the open discharge aperture (32) and surrounded by a cooling air channel (38). The arrangement is such that cooling air can sweep over the inner side as well as the outer side of the perforated wall (34).

  • Patent number: 4805710
Abstract: An arrangement in industrial trucks of the kind which include a chassis (3) carried by support wheels (5, 6) which lack spring suspension, and driven by a sprung drive-wheel (7) arranged between two support wheels. A hydraulically operable load carrying device (2) is provided for lifting primarily goods-laden pallets. The sprung movement of the drive-wheel (7) relative to the chassis is effected with the aid of a spring assembly (22) which includes link arms (25, 26) and a spring (24) both being arranged between the chassis and the drive-wheel. The spring (24) includes a hydraulic working piston-cylinder device (27) by means of which the spring assembly can be given a desired spring bias or spring force. The piston-cylinder device is connected to the hydraulic system of the load carrying device in a manner to increase automatically the spring bias, and therewith the pressure exerted by the drive-wheel against the floor or like surface when the load carried increases.
