  • Patent number: 10895203
Abstract: A general purpose engine includes: a cooling fan fixed to an engine rotary shaft; a muffler to silence exhaust gases; a muffler covering to cover the muffler; and an auto choke device to control an opening of a choke valve in an air intake passage by the utilization of heat evolved from the muffler. The auto choke device includes: a drive source, which is fitted to the muffler covering in a non-contact fashion to the muffler and exposed to an outer surface of the muffler covering; and a link member to connect between the drive source and the choke valve. The drive source includes a bracket, which is fitted to the muffler covering, and a bimetal fitted inside the bracket. The bracket includes a heat shield extending towards an inner side of the muffler covering, and the heat shield blocks out a cooling wind then flowing towards the bimetal.

  • Patent number: 10201908
Abstract: A wood or resin cutting tool with improved durability is provided. The wood or resin cutting tool is composed of a base material made of steel or a cemented carbide alloy, and a coating formed on at least one of the rake face and the clearance face of the cutting tool. The coating includes a periodic structure layer made of chromium oxynitride, in which high oxygen regions having a high concentration of oxygen in the texture and low oxygen regions having a lower concentration of oxygen in the texture than the high oxygen regions periodically exist in the thickness direction of the coating. The periodic structure layer is formed such that the nitrogen concentration periodically turns high and low in the thickness direction of the layer corresponding to the high oxygen regions and the low oxygen regions.

  • Patent number: 10179366
Abstract: The invention suppresses chipping of a cutting edge of a cutting tool while maintaining sharpness of the cutting edge. [Solution] A coating (20) of a replaceable knife (10) of the cutting tool is formed so that either one of a rake-face coating portion (22) that coats a rake face (14) or a clearance-face coating portion (24) that coats a clearance face (16) becomes thicker than the other. The film thickness of the thicker coating portion (22, 24) is set in a range of 0.5 ?m to 15.0 ?m, and a ratio of the film thickness of the thinner coating portion (24, 22) to the film thickness of the thicker coating portion (22, 24) is set in a range of 0.01 to 0.15.

  • Patent number: 8435651
Abstract: Provided is a wood cutting tool with improved wear resistance and corrosion resistance. A hard fundamental layer (18) of chromium nitride (CrN) is subjected to PVD to be coated on a rake face (16) of a substrate (12) formed of a cemented carbide alloy or a tool steel. The hard fundamental layer (18) has a five-layer structure having a first layer (18a) to a fifth layer (18e) disposed in order from the substrate (12) side. A hard main layer (20) of chromium oxide (Cr2O3) is coated on the outer surface of the fifth layer (18e) of the hard fundamental layer (18). The hard main layer (20), like the hard fundamental layer (18), is formed by PVD. The hard fundamental layer (18) is coated with the hard main layer (20) to suppress corrosion, thereby improving the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of a cemented carbide replaceable knife (10).
