  • Patent number: 6645067
Abstract: A CPU controls a graphic controller based on control programs within a main RAM to extract a series of rhythm sound data for each of multiple mimic percussion instruments from a graphic RAM and correlates these in a time-axial direction for display on a monitor, instruction and display of the operating timing for each sound of the multiple mimic percussion instruments is performed on the monitor, the player performs sequential striking input with the left and right hands, for example, for the rhythm sounds via a rhythm input detecting apparatus corresponding to multiple mimic percussion instruments, while following the operation timing display instructions thereof. The timing thereof is compared with the timing of the display instruction and evaluation is made based on the offset thereof, and the evaluation results are accumulated. Thus, a rhythm-matching game with a high gaming nature is realized, by inputting operation for multiple instruments using multiple hands and feet such as the left and right hands.

  • Patent number: 6614745
Abstract: There are provided a spindle motor 12, an optical head 20, a high-pass filter 31, low-pass filters 32 and 33, an adder 38, and a PLL 39. The spindle motor 12 rotatively drives an optical disk 11. The optical head 20 irradiates a laser beam onto a target track and both tracks adjacent to the target track on the optical disk 11 and detects a return light from each track. The high-pass filter 31 filters a high-frequency component in a signal used for detecting a return light from a target track in the optical head 20. Each of the low-pass filters 32 and 33 filters a low-frequency component in a signal used for detecting a return light from each of the adjacent tracks. The adder 38 operates output signals from the high-pass filter 31, and the low-pass filters 32 and 33. Based on a signal from the adder 38, the PLL 39 generates a reference signal used as a time reference for generating recording signals. An operation by the adder 38 nullifies a cross modulation component.

  • Patent number: 6508234
Abstract: A required fuel amount for an engine is calculated at a predetermined calculation cycle. A fuel injection amount to be injected from an upstream injection valve and a fuel injection amount to be injected from a downstream injection valve are then calculated. After fuel injection on the basis of the calculated fuel injection amounts, a lack of fuel delivered by the fuel injection amounts immediately before re-calculation of a required fuel amount at the calculation cycle until the end of an intake stroke (end of an intake valve opening period), is calculated by subtracting the fuel injection amounts from the re-calculated required fuel amount. The calculated lack of fuel amount is injected from the downstream injection valve during the intake stroke, e.g., in stages 6 and 7.

  • Publication number: 20020129154
Abstract: A router emits an infrared ray based on a signal for operating a video recorder to the video recorder at a request made by any one of personal computers connected to the router through a network. In response to the infrared ray based on a signal for operating the video recorder, the video recorder outputs analog signals to the router through cables. The router then converts the analog signals into audio and video digital signals. Subsequently, the router outputs the digital signals to the personal computer making the request by way of the network. Then, the personal computer making the request outputs a sound based on the audio digital signal and displays a picture based on the video digital signal. As a result, the router allows an analog apparatus such as the video recorder to be connected to the network in a simple configuration.

  • Patent number: 6410835
Abstract: Rhythm sensations can be represented in time to music by using the entire body and to create powerfulness and rhythm sensations. Stepping position indication data which is set by a rhythm setting section is read from a stepping position indication data memory, and the stepping position instruction contents are scrolled and displayed on a monitor by a scroll display control section, thereby performing instructions of the stepping position and the stepping operation timing. When the fact that a player steps on a step-on base section in accordance with the display contents of the monitor is detected by a cable switch and this is input from a stepping operation monitor section, a score proportional to the timing deviation is calculated by an amount-of-deviation detection/totaling section, and next, an evaluation is performed by the rhythm setting section. Then, the next stepping position indication data is set according to the evaluation result.

  • Patent number: 6368131
Abstract: The waterproof electrical connector achieves a seal between an end portion of a socket housing and a seal member in a pin housing. The seal member may be elastic, and forms a seal that allows for easy withdrawal and insertion of the socket housing in the pin housing. The seal member may have an arcuate surface that engages the end portion of the socket housing. The socket housing has a rectangular transverse cross-section that allows for dense packing of female terminals.

  • Patent number: 6346464
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a low power dissipation semiconductor power device is provided which is easy to perform and suitable for mass production. When a first and second conductivity-type regions are formed on a semiconductor substrate which is selectively irradiated by impurity ions, an excellent super junction is formed by controlling the ion acceleration energy and the width of each irradiated region so that the first and second conductivity-type regions may have a uniform impurity distribution and a uniform width along the direction of irradiation. Another method of manufacturing a low power dissipation semiconductor power device having an excellent super junction is provided which selectively irradiates a collimated neutron beam onto a P+ silicon ingot and forms an N+ region that has a uniform impurity distribution and a uniform width along the direction of irradiation in the P+ silicon ingot.

  • Patent number: 6342665
Abstract: A drum rhythm game apparatus and a guitar rhythm game apparatus each includes a staging operating unit. Playing progression information, which includes sector numbers, is transferred between the drum rhythm game apparatus and the guitar rhythm game apparatus, thereby enabling staging operation to be implemented from each of the staging operating units while synchronizing the visual staging instructions provided to players of the game for the background music piece to be played at both the drum rhythm game apparatus and the guitar rhythm game apparatus. This allows the game to be played in a state closer to reality in which multiple players each have staging operating units as different instrument, such as with an actual band, making the game more enjoyable.

  • Patent number: 6256276
Abstract: Thermal stress is prevented from accumulating on a disk recording medium. Data to be recorded is divided into 32-kilobyte clusters, and a front link area and a back link area, whose lengths are randomly changed, formed of a total of 8 frames are added before and after the clusters. Then, the data is recorded on a predetermined area of a disk on the basis of address data prerecorded on the disk.
