    Abstract: The present invention provides a martensitic heat resistant alloy having a composition (A) comprising, % by weight: 0.03 to 0.15% of C; 0.01 to 0.9% of Si: 0.01 to 1.5% of Mn; 8.0 to 13.0% of Cr; 0.0005 to 0.015% of Al; no more than 2.0% of Mo; no more than 4.0% of W; 0.05 to 0.5% of V; 0.01 to 0.2% of Nb; 0.1 to 5.0% of Co; 0.008 to 0.03% of B; less than 0.005% of N: and Fe and inevitable impurities as the remainder, wherein (B) the contents (% by weight) of Mo, W, B and N satisfy the following formulae (1) and (2). B?0.772N>0.007??(1) W+1.916Mo?16.99B>2.0??(2) The martensitic heat resistant alloy of the present invention has excellent oxidation resistance, hot workability and ductility and exhibits high creep rupture strength in a range of relatively long rupture time at a high temperature.

    Abstract: A high reliability emission source is constructed to secure the ohmic contact between a carbon nanotube and an electrically conductive base material, so as to ensure sufficient joining strength, and to provide for easy beam shaft adjustment. An electron microscope for realizing high resolution, high brightness, a reduction in sample damage due to a reduction in acceleration voltage, a reduction in cost and compactness, and an electron beam drawing device for realizing high definition, high efficiency, a reduction in cost and compactness in comparison with the conventional device, is achieved by using this high reliability emission source. In the emission source, the carbon nanotube is attached to the tip central portion of the electrically conductive base material through an electrically conductive joining material or an organic material by carbonization-processing the organic material by heat treatment, or by diffusive joining.

    Abstract: A vacuum type circuit breaker which has an operating lever (31) connected at one end thereof to the movable electrode (102) of a vacuum switch tube (1) and at the other end to a closing spring (55) through an energy storage link mechanism (54). The operating lever (31) functions to drive the movable electrode (102). The energy storage link mechanism (54) is provided with an energy storage crank (52) pivotally supported on a shaft (2051). The force which the energy storage link mechanism (54) applies to the operating lever (31) is set such that it is less than a force on the operating lever (31) which is produced by the difference between the internal pressure of the vacuum switch tube (1) and atmospheric pressure. This arrangement makes it possible, upon occurrence of vacuum loss, to detect the vacuum shortage, whereupon the closing of the switch is prevented to thereby avoid an accident due to vacuum degradation.

    Abstract: A contact for a vacuum interrupter has excellent characteristics of high withstand voltage, low melt bonding property, large current durability and low chopping current and is prepared by uniformly distributing, in a copper matrix, two kinds of high melting point metal powders having a melting point of higher than 1450.degree. C. which have different particle diameters of (1) 80-300 .mu.m and (2) less than 30 .mu.m. The low chopping current characteristic is imparted by incorporating more than 10 wt. % of the high melting point metal powder. The high melting point metal powder can be selected from the group consisting of Cr, W, Mo, Ir and Co.
