    Abstract: A ball screw device or linear motion guide device has a seal member preventing dust and dirt from entering into a movable member of a linear motion guide device and seals out fine dust, dirt or like by surely contacting a seal to a shaft member without providing a large margin to the seal. The seal member includes a body portion mounted to the movable member and a lip portion contacting an outer portion of the shaft member, the lip portion has an oblique surface having an axial section inclining with respect to its axial direction, the body portion has an urging member urging the lip portion in a diameter direction of the shaft member and a reinforcing portion reinforcing the body portion. The urging member is located on the reinforcing portion side than the tip end of the lip portion in the axial sectional shape of the lip portion.

The direction-changing path includes a guide groove for the coupling member, which has an outer circumferential guide surface and an inner circumferential guide surface. The guide groove has a maximum width at a midpoint of a path within a range of from a coupling end between the direction-changing path and the load rolling element path or the rolling element return path to a center portion of the direction-changing path, and the groove width at the coupling end and the groove width at the center portion are smaller than the maximum value of the groove width.

    Abstract: A return pipe is constituted by combining a pair of return pipe halves split along a non-load passage. A pipe hold down member is fixed to a nut member so as to be astride the return pipe, fixing the return pipe to the nut member. A flange portion is formed on each of the return pipe halves, while a pair of fixing leg portions covering the flange portion of each return pipe half is formed on the pipe hold down member. Fastening members pass through the fixing leg portions of the pipe hold down member and the flange portion of the return pipe halves and are fastened to the nut member. When the fixing leg portions of the pipe hold down member are fixed to the nut member by the fastening members, an engagement portion of the pipe hold down member is configured to tighten the pair of the return pipe halves in the direction where split faces of the return pipe halves abut against each other.
