  • Publication number: 20240092084
Abstract: A technique capable of certainly suppressing adhesion of waste ink to hands, clothes, and the like during replacement of a waste ink tank is provided. There are included a container portion provided with an insertion port which a discharge member discharging waste ink can be inserted into and pulled out from and a shielding portion movable between a shielding position where the insertion port is shielded and an open position where the insertion port is opened.

  • Patent number: 4872660
Abstract: A sheet feed device installed in a copier or like recording apparatus for selectively feeding sheets in an automatic and a manual mode. The device include a sensor sensitive to a movement of a manual insertion tray to an operative position away from an inoperative one. When the sensor has sensed such a movement of the tray while a sheet cassette is in a sheet feed position, a drive mechanism which is driven by a DC motor shifts the sheet cassette from the sheet feed position to a standby position. The tray is made up of a front tray and a rear tray which is connected to the front tray in an upward rotatably manner. While the tray is attached to the sheet feed position, a tray guide guides the movement of the front tray to the sheet feed position.

  • Patent number: 4279501
Abstract: A cleaning device for a photoelectrostatic copying apparatus has a cleaning blade and a cleaning roller adapted to be brought into pressing engagement with a photosensitive member to effect cleaning thereof after transfer printing. The cleaning blade is brought out of contact with the photosensitive member and the cleaning roller is either brought out of contact with the photosensitive member or has its contact pressure reduced when the apparatus is inoperative, whereby damage to the photosensitive member due to the pressing engagement of the photosensitive member with the blade and the roller can be avoided or minimized.

  • Patent number: 4106763
Abstract: Cassettes containing different sizes of sheets are selectively insertable below a feed roller. Each cassette has a bottom wall formed with a hole and a plate having a front edge aligned with the front of the cassette and a rear edge tiltably connected to the bottom wall. An actuator is insertable through the hole to tilt the plate and sheets upwardly so that the top sheet engages with the feed roller. Each cassette is designed to contain stacks of sheets of a predetermined width and various lengths. For sheets of less than maximum length a rear edge guide is mounted on the plate or bottom wall to align the front edges of the sheets with the front edge of the plate. The length of each plate is no greater than the length of the shortest sheet of the respective width.

  • Patent number: 4098501
Abstract: A frame selectively supports sheet cassettes of various widths, one edge of the selected cassette being aligned against a first side wall of the frame. A first feed roller is operatively disposed above the selected cassette and spaced by a predetermined distance from the first side wall. For a maximum size cassette, the opposite edge of the cassette is aligned with a second side wall of the frame. A second feed roller is axially movable and embraced by a roller carrier which is biased into engagement with the second side wall so that the second feed roller is spaced from the second side wall by the same predetermined distance to ensure symmetrical sheet feed. A stop member integral with the roller carrier abuttingly prevents narrower cassettes from being inserted into the frame. To utilize a narrower cassette, an insert is mounted on the frame so that the edges of the cassette engage with the first side wall of the frame and with the insert respectively.
