  • Patent number: 4805578
Abstract: An air-fuel ratio control system realized with a computer for an internal combustion engine is disclosed, wherein an idle discriminator unit discriminates whether the internal combustion engine is idle or not, and when it is idle, an idle air-fuel ratio compensation amount determining unit decides an air-fuel ratio compensation amount in accordance with an output of an air-fuel ratio detector. When the engine is not idle, on the other hand, a non-idle air-fuel ratio compensation amount determining unit decides an air-fuel ratio compensation amount.

  • Patent number: 4655929
Abstract: In a process for processing a waste solution containing ammonium ions and fluoride ions to recover ammoniacal water and anhydrous hydrogen fluoride, the waste solution is treated with a strong acid type ion exchange resin to separate ammonium ions; the resin is eluted with hydrochloric acid to recover ammonia as ammonium chloride; the effluent is distilled with addition of concentrated sulfuric acid to recover hydrogen fluoride; the remaining diluted sulfuric acid is concentrated and recycled to the hydrogen fluoride recovery step; the ammonium chloride solution is distilled with addition of magnesium hydroxide to recover ammonia water; the remaining formed magnesium chloride is thermally decomposed into hydrochloric acid and magnesium hydroxide, which are recycled to the regeneration of the ion exchange resin and the treatment of the ammonium chloride solution respectively.

  • Patent number: 4653453
Abstract: An engine throttle valve position detector has a throttle switch formed by a rotary detector member rotatable with the engine throttle valve, a single stationary contact and a single movable contact movable by a guide groove in the rotary detector member into and out of electrical contact with the stationary contact. The stationary and movable contacts are contacted together when the throttle valve is in both fully-closed and fully-open positions, to thereby emit electric signals to an electric control unit in which the signals are processed on the basis of engine intake air flow and engine oil temperature to judge one of the throttle valve fully closed and fully-open positions.

  • Patent number: 4415126
Abstract: Apparatus for reciprocating a yarn guide to wind yarn on a bobbin including a rotating scroll cam provided with an endless helical cam groove and a second cam groove in superposed relationship with the endless cam groove and having a greater lead angle than the endless cam groove over a predetermined distance adjacent each turning point. The yarn guide is provided with an elongate ship-shaped cam follower slidably fitted into the endless cam groove and pivotable with respect to the yarn guide and a cylindrical cam follower slidably fitted into the second cam groove. The width of the portion of the endless cam groove adjacent each turning point is gradually increased toward the turning point so as to permit the elongate cam follower to smoothly reverse its direction when it passes the turning point.

  • Patent number: 4391619
Abstract: An air nozzle apparatus for directing air flow against the undersurface of an orifice plate of a glass fiber drawing forehearth, having an air introducing section having a manifold formed with at least one air supply port, and an air nozzle section formed with a plurality of nozzle channels communicating with the manifold. The air nozzle section has a plurality of nozzle ribs of substantially the same shape each having opposed side surfaces and opposed end edge portions. The plurality of nozzle ribs are arranged to have their side surfaces located in adjacent relationship to provide a nozzle block. Each nozzle rib is formed on at least one of the opposed side surfaces with a longitudinally extending recess which defines one of the plurality of nozzle channels between the adjacent nozzle ribs.

  • Patent number: 4383653
Abstract: A traverse motion used in combination with a device for winding a continous elongate element such as a strand consisting of a large number of glass filaments drawn through a bushing with a large number of nozzles. In the traverse motion of the type including a scroll cam with an endless cam groove consisting of at least one pair of right- and left-hand grooves joined at each end and a strand guide which has a cam follower fitted in the endless cam groove of the scroll cam and is adapted to reciprocate along a straight path in parallel with the axis of the shaft of the scroll cam when the latter is rotated, the lead angle of the endless cam groove is increased adjacent to its ends or adjacent to each returning point of the cam follower so that the guide is increased in velocity adjacent to each returning point.

  • Patent number: 4175939
Abstract: A system for manufacturing chopped strands of glass filaments wherein a multiplicity of glass filaments are extruded through orifices in the bottom of at least two spinning furnaces and a sizing agent is applied and the filaments are collected to form at least two strands. The strands brought into contact with the circumferential surface of a feed roller through a predetermined angle so as to be drawn and attenuated by frictional force exerted by the circumferential surface of the feed roller while the strands are cut into chopped strands of a predetermined length with a cutter roller in contact with the feed roller. An auxiliary feed roller is disposed adjacent to one end portion of and in axial alignment with the main feed roller and is driven independently thereof. An auxiliary cutter roller is adapted to contact under pressure the circumferential surface of the auxiliary feed roller to rotate therewith.
