  • Patent number: 5253647
Abstract: A position and orientation state pickup is designed to detect the position and orientation state of an endoscope inserted into a living body without any adverse effect on the living body, which is often observed in X-ray analysis. The position and orientation state pickup, generating an electro-magnetic field with frequency at least lower than the visible ray range toward the body from outside; detects influence of the endoscope inserted into the body on two-dimensional energy distribution of the electro-magnetic field generated toward the body; and show the position and orientation state of the endoscope from the detection results.

  • Patent number: 4898175
Abstract: In this out-body observing apparatus, an illuminating light fed by an illuminating device is emitted from the tip part of an insertable part of an endoscope inserted into a body cavity and is radiated onto a part to be observed. This illuminating light having passed through a living body tissue is imaged by an imaging device provided outside the body. This imaging means delivers a picture image signal to a signal processing device. This signal processing device processes the signal and outputs a video signal to a displaying device. This displaying device displays on a picture surface the image of the observed part of the tissue within the living body.

  • Patent number: 4870487
Abstract: A white light of a lamp, which can flash, is passed through a rotary filter fitted with a plurality of color filters to output field sequential type colored light. An output signal of a color filter detecting device, detecting the timing when the color filters are interposed in a light path, is used to produce trigger signals having different delay amounts. The light emitting timing of the lamp is delayed relatively from the time when the color filters are interposed in the light path to control the emitted light amounts of the colored light.

  • Patent number: 4791479
Abstract: An electronic endoscope comprising an endoscope unit and a light source unit. The endoscope includes a light guide and a CCD for imaging the object. The light source unit includes a continuously lighting lamp (e.g., xenon lamp), for use as a light source for observation, and a flashing stroboscope as a light source for still-picture recording. An illumination light from the lamp or the stroboscope is applied alternatively to a light guide. A rotary filter is located in front of the light guide. Every time it makes one revolution, the filter colors the illumination light red, green, and blue, in succession, with shielding periods between coloring periods. The CCD is stored with signal charge corresponding to image information during a coloring period, and outputs an output signal during a shielding period thereafter. The output of the CCD is supplied to the light source unit, and is transmitted through a multiplexer to be stored in any of frame memories.

  • Patent number: 4716897
Abstract: An electrosurgical apparatus includes a radio frequency (RF) power source for supplying an RF signal to an object to be cauterized through a treatment tool and an electrode plate. A dummy load with a certain impedance is coupled in the current path from an active terminal to which the treatment tool is connected to the check terminal connectable to an electrode plate. Before electrosurgical treatment, the dummy load is connected to the active terminal and the check terminal. An actual RF signal flowing through the dummy load is detected and compared with a predetermined RF signal from the RF power source.

  • Patent number: 4611250
Abstract: In an apparatus for recording a video signal on magnetic tape which is helically wrapped on a guide drum having single rotary head for scanning the magnetic tape, one field of the video signal is divided into N segments thereof (where N is an integer) and each of the N segments are time-compressed to ensure a time corresponding to an interval where the single rotary head scans the magnetic tape. The N segments of the video signal are respectively recorded on separate N tracks of the magnetic tape by the single rotary head.
