  • Patent number: 5500170
Abstract: A heating and extruding method for a bulk preform of a fiber reinforced composite material, including a stabbing machine for forming an unpenetrated hole in the bulk preform, a heating machine connected to the stabbing machine for heating the bulk preform by a nitrogen gas, and an extruding machine connected to the heating machine for heating and compressing the bulk preform heated by the heating machine to discharge a predetermined amount of the bulk preform, wherein at least the heating machine to the extruding machine has a sealing structure sealing a nitrogen gas therein. An extruding lip of the extruding machine has a thickness restriction plate and a width restriction plate for respectively adjusting an extrusion thickness and an extrusion width of the melted composite material. Accordingly, oxidation and degradation of resin composing the fiber reinforced composite material can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 5489978
Abstract: A lens measuring apparatus has a light beam projecting unit for projecting a light beam onto a lens to be examined, a photoelectric detector for detecting the light beam projected onto the lens to be examined, and a calculator for calculating the refraction information of the lens to be examined on the basis of the detection by the photoelectric detector. The calculator, when it calculates the refraction information of the near viewing portion of a progressive focal lens as the lens to be examined, compares refraction information calculated successively while the examined position of the lens to be examined is moved with the already calculated and memorized refraction information of the far viewing portion of the lens to be examined and successively calculates additional power in each portion to be examined. The calculator further memorizes the maximum value of the successively calculated additional power while renewing it.

  • Patent number: 5283026
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for molding an agglomerated preform of a fiber-reinforced composite material comprising a resin material as a matrix and reinforcing fibers dispersed therein, into a desired shape. In the molding method, the preform is heated from the interior thereof, whereby the temperature of the entire preform can be raised efficiently and uniformly. If an optional number of holes are formed in the agglomerated preform, rod-like heaters for heating or gas nozzles for the release of heated gas can be inserted into the preform easily through such holes, whereby uniform heating can be effected. Further, by incorporating an appropriate amount of a dielectric loss improver into the preform and thereafter subjecting the preform to high-frequency heating or microwave heating, the preform can be heated efficiently and uniformly in a short time.

  • Patent number: 4887591
Abstract: A midget respirator gas tank apparatus comprising a plurality of small gas tanks each including a pin-penetrable position. The gas tanks are removably mounted in holders with the pin-penetrable position held in a gastight space. A pressure regulator is connected to the holders for communication through gas passages. A pin mechanism is supported in a gas-tight state in one of the holders for perforating one of the gas tanks at the pin-penetrable position. A piston drive pin mechanism is supported in the other holder for perforating the other gas tank under pressure of a respirable gas jetting out the gas tank perforated by the first-mentioned pin mechanism. The pressure regulator regulates the pressure of the respirable gs and supplies the pressure-regulated gas to a mouthpiece.

  • Patent number: 4242073
Abstract: An apparatus comprising a resin plasticizing injection machine having an injection nozzle, a branch portion connected to the injection nozzle and having a plurality of outlet ports, molds and mold clamping devices both arranged around the branch portion in corresponding relation to the outlet ports, and an extension nozzle for maintaining each of the outlet ports in communication with each of the molds. Pressure control means is provided at an intermediate portion of the extension nozzle for maintaining the mold cavity at a specified pressure after resin has been injected into the mold. Means is provided for closing a flow channel extending from the injection machine to the pressure control means. After resin has been injected into a mold, the cavity of the mold can be maintained at the specified pressure by the pressure control means in place of the injection machine, so that the injection machine and the next mold can be subsequently brought into operation.
