    Abstract: A stern tube seal device wherein an annular case member is arranged in the outer periphery of a shaft, a gap between both the members is sealed in multiple stage by using a plurality of seal members such as a segment seal member, a lip seal member and the like, and pressure gas is fed at the rear of the segment seal member which forms one of these seal members to enhance a seal effect by pressure of the gas.
