  • Patent number: 5882154
Abstract: A gear finishing apparatus with helix compensation is disclosed, in which a helical gear is supported and rotated on a table by a gear holder and a tail stock, a finishing wheel is supported and rotated on a slider that can move toward and away from the finishing wheel in a substantially perpendicular direction to the gear axis, and the table and the slider are structured to relatively reciprocally move in the gear axis, wherein the gear holder comprises a drive motor for rotating a holder shaft for holding the helical gear; and a compensation drive unit by which a motor drum holding the drive motor is rotated about the gear axis, thereby compensating the circumferential speed in accordance with the helix angle of the helical gear during the relative movement of the helical gear and the finishing wheel in an axial direction of the gear and realizing high accuracy in the tooth profile of a helical gear.

  • Patent number: 5615982
Abstract: A gear finishing apparatus having a construction in which a support gear supported by a finishing wheel holding section can support and fix a plurality of finishing wheels in parallel, wherein a finishing wheel holding section makes it possible to move an operating portion for holding and rotating the finishing wheel in a direction parallel to the axis of the finishing wheel and to fix it at predetermined positions within the extent of the movement. If the plurality of finishing wheels are attached to the support gear and the positions thereof are adjusted in advance, a new finishing wheel in an adjusted position can be brought into a processing position by moving and fixing the operating portion of the finishing wheel holding section when one of the attached finishing wheels is worn out, thereby obtaining a rapid and continuous finish processing. Further, if different kinds of finishing wheels are attached in advance, the time required for finishing different kinds of gears to be processed can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 4971488
Abstract: A first table (1) slidable leftwards and rightwards of a gear finishing machine and a second table (2) slidable forwards and rearwards of the machine are disposed in an overlapped relationship such that one of the tables is mounted on the top of the other table. Of these tables, the upper table is guided by a horizontal guide member (3) which is adapted to be rotated to any desired angular position and to be clamped at such position. A feed motor (5) drives the first table to slide. For sliding the table assembly along a diagonal direction, the angular position of the guide member is adjusted so that it extends along such direction.A horizontal stability of the table assembly is secured without employing a conventional parallel link mechanism. The table assembly is driven to slide so as to pass the center of machine so that an accuracy of gear finishing is assured.

  • Patent number: 4942657
Abstract: Automatic cutter change type shaving machine, wherein a spindle of a cutter head supported movably upward and downward by a column has a cutter loading portion having a mechanism to load and unload a cutter along the axis of said spindle at an end of said spindle and a carriage which moves toward and away from said cutter loading portion carries out load and unload of a cutter for said cutter loading portion through its reciprocating motion.

  • Patent number: 4110898
Abstract: A machine tool comprising one or plural storage magazines which are mounted along the vertical direction rotatably around a vertical axis on an upstanding support frame structure at a side of working station. Each of the magazines stores at the periphery thereof a plurality of spindle heads, workpiece supporting jigs or tool supporting heads which are alternatively set one by one to a set position at the working station for operation on workpieces. Alternative setting of such heads or jigs is achieved by a selective rotation of each magazine and by a selective lifting and lowering of the head or jig between the set position and a store position just above such set position. Floor space required for storing and exchanging the heads or jigs is largely saved. A particular exchanging device for exchanging heads or jigs stored by the magazines for another heads or jigs is provided which greatly enlarges processings possibly carried out at the working station.
