A Software Defined Network (SDN) Management System using a SDN control message configures an user data flow in the virtual access node by designating a virtualized access NNI, a virtualized access UNI, and flow forwarding configuration parameters without specifying exact flow forwarding resources. The virtual access node allocates and configures a set of required flow forwarding resources which are distributed in the CO and/or the CPE by that device oriented partitioned control messages with translating in the legacy control message when the resource is in a SDN non-native device.

A subscriber loop remote control apparatus is provided with a virtual interface table for associating a subscriber premises terminal identifier individually assigned to a subscriber premises terminal connected through a communication cable to a port assigned to every packet of each group which constitutes a VLAN with the port number of the port to store and manage them. When receiving a packet, the subscriber loop remote control apparatus determines whether or not a subscriber premises terminal identifier contained in the packet matches any of those in the virtual interface table. When the subscriber premises terminal identifier matches one of those in the virtual interface table, the subscriber loop remote control apparatus returns and transmits the packet to the destination before the router side.

    Abstract: In a self-healing network, virtual paths between user terminals are classified according to different fault recovery priority levels and communication links are mapped to virtual paths accommodated by the links and to bandwidths remaining in the respective links. Each priority level guarantees a fault recovery with a different amount of network resource. In response to a fault-indicating message identifying a failed virtual path, a search is made through the link-path table for an alternate virtual path and a remaining bandwidth of each link that comprises the alternate virtual path in descending order of the priority classes. In accordance with the priority class of the failed virtual path relative to the priority class of an existing virtual path that shares the same link with the alternate virtual path, a decision is made on whether or not the bandwidth guaranteed by the priority class of the failed virtual path can be allocated to the alternate virtual path from the remaining bandwidth.
