  • Patent number: 9084982
Abstract: Provided are: a water-absorbing resin composition and a laminate using the resin composition. The resin composition is capable of giving a transparent anti-fog coating excellent in properties such as appearance, coatability, anti-fog properties, water resistance, and heat resistance. Specifically, a resin composition includes a specific (meth)acrylamide copolymer (A) in combination with at least one bifunctional or higher (meth)acrylate compound (B), in which the (meth)acrylamide copolymer (A) is copolymerized from a (meth)acrylamide monomer with another monomer. This resin composition provides an active-energy-ray-curable water-absorbing resin composition and a laminate using the resin composition, each having excellent anti-fog properties.

  • Patent number: 8084545
Abstract: Disclosed is a photo- and/or thermo-curable copolymer having polymerizable unsaturated groups in side chains, which is obtainable by reacting a copolymer (P) with an epoxy-containing polymerizable unsaturated compound (C), the copolymer (P) containing monomer units derived from a carboxyl-containing polymerizable unsaturated compound (A) and monomer units derived from at least one epoxy-containing polymerizable unsaturated compound (B) represented by following Formula (1) or (2), in which the epoxy group of the epoxy-containing polymerizable unsaturated compound (C) has been added to part of the carboxyl groups of the copolymer (P). In the formulae, Ras each represent hydrogen or hydroxyl-substituted or -unsubstituted alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; and Rbs each represent single bond or alkylene having 1 to 18 carbon atoms which may contain heteroatom(s).

  • Publication number: 20110112266
Abstract: A copolymer includes at least monomeric units (A) corresponding to a carbonyl- or acid-anhydride-group-containing polymerizable unsaturated compound (a); monomeric units (B) corresponding to at least one polymerizable unsaturated compound (b) selected from compounds represented by following Formulae (1) and (2) (wherein Ra represents a hydrogen atom or, e.g., an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; and Rb represents a single bond or, e.g., an alkylene group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms); and monomeric units (C) corresponding to at least one polymerizable unsaturated compound (c) selected from compounds represented by following Formulae (3) and (4) (wherein Rc represents a hydrogen atom or, e.g., an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; and Rd represents a single bond or, e.g., an alkylene group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms). The copolymer, when used as a radiation-sensitive resin, can give a high-performance cured film excellent in hardness, solvent resistance, and thermal stability.

  • Publication number: 20100210801
Abstract: Disclosed is a copolymer which includes at least monomer units corresponding to a vinyl monomer A containing a blocked isocyanate group and represented by following Formula (1); and monomer units corresponding to a vinyl monomer B containing a cyclic ether group having 3 to 5 members. The copolymer may further include monomer units corresponding to (meth)acrylic alkyl esters, aromatic vinyl compounds, hydroxyl-containing monomers, and/or carboxyl-containing monomers. In the formula, R1 represents hydrogen atom or methyl group; R2 represents a bivalent saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms; and R3 represents a residue of isocyanate-blocking agent R3H. This copolymer gives a cured article that excels not only in adhesion to substrates but also in resistance to chemicals, especially to alkalis.

  • Publication number: 20090324831
Abstract: Disclosed is a curable resin composition which contains a copolymer; and an organic solvent having a boiling point of 180° C. or higher at atmospheric pressure, which copolymer contains monomer units (A) having an alkali-soluble group, and monomer units (B) corresponding to curable group-containing polymerizable unsaturated compounds. The copolymer contains the monomer units (B) in a content of 5 to 95 percent by weight, based on the total weight of monomer units constituting the copolymer, and the monomer units (B) contain 30 percent by weight or more of monomer units corresponding to at least one compound selected from compounds containing an 3,4-epoxytricyclo[5.2.1.02,6]decane ring. The curable resin composition gives a coat which is superior typically in transparency and thermal stability and does not suffer from uneven thickness and coating defects particularly when the composition is applied through slit coating or ink-jet coating.
