  • Publication number: 20130038646
Abstract: A dimmer includes a pair of pivoting sections provided across an optical axis of a light beam and having pivot axes and a pair of light blocking sections held by the pair of pivoting sections and configured to pivot following pivoting of the pivoting sections to block the light beam. In a maximum light blocking state, positions in the optical axis direction of opposed ends on the optical axis side of the pair of light blocking sections are different from each other. In the maximum light blocking state, the opposed ends on the optical axis side of the pair of light blocking sections are arranged to overlap each other in a direction along the optical axis.

  • Publication number: 20120275048
Abstract: A magnetic recording element records information by applying a recording magnetic field to a magnetic recording medium having an information recording area to form a plurality of recording columns extending in a first direction. Recording by the magnetic recording element is performed so that a first recording column and a second recording column formed before the first recording column partially overlap each other in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, and that a recording start position of the first recording column is positioned upstream, relative to the recording direction, of a recording start position of the second recording column.

  • Patent number: 8283830
Abstract: In a rotating electric machine, each phase of a plurality of three-phase windings is divided into a plurality of partial windings, disposed on a stator core. For example, the partial windings of the U-phase are distributively arranged on four U-phase winding areas 2U1 to 2U4, and on each of these winding areas, two partial windings overlap through a pair of slots between which two teeth are interposed. At each coincident location of a pair of slots, two partial windings of different three-phase windings overlap. For example, a pair of slots on the U-phase winding area 2U1, a partial winding UA1 of a U-phase winding UA and a partial winding UB3 of a U-phase winding UB overlap. At a pair of slots on the U-phase winding area 2U1, a partial winding UG2 of a U-phase winding UG and a partial winding UB2 of a U-phase winding UB overlap.

  • Patent number: 7907497
Abstract: There is provided a storage layer (13) between storage layers (11), (15). The storage layer (13) produces a relatively large spherical aberration for a protection layer thickness error. Information is written to or read from the storage layer (13) with a beam of light having a second wavelength. Information is written to or read from the storage layers (11), (15) with a beam of light having a first wavelength (longer than the second wavelength). Accordingly, a multi-format optical storage medium is realized on which information can be recorded or reproduced with a single objective lens. Also, an optical pickup is realized which is capable of recording or reproducing information on the multi-format optical storage medium.
