  • Patent number: 10118534
Abstract: An irradiation apparatus includes a shielded object detecting unit, an illumination setting unit, an irradiating device, and an illumination controlling unit. The shielded object detecting unit detects a shielded object. Glare is allowable to the shielded object at an upper limit of illumination brightness or less. A driver can visually recognize the shielded object at an lower limit of the illumination brightness or more. The illumination setting unit sets the illumination brightness based on the upper limit and the lower limit of the illumination brightness. The illumination controlling unit controls the irradiating device such that light is emitted in a predetermined irradiation pattern in which a first part of the shielded object is illuminated at the illumination brightness set by the illumination setting unit and a second part of the shielded object is illuminated at a higher illumination brightness than that of the first part.

  • Patent number: 9732926
Abstract: An illumination system includes: a light irradiation unit that projects light toward a predetermined illumination area; an image acquisition unit that acquires an image of the illumination area; an object detecting unit that detects a shading object based on image information of the illumination area, acquired by the image acquisition unit; an information generating unit that generates the control information for setting each of the plurality of reflecting mirrors to an on state or an off state such that a plurality of irradiation patterns are alternately irradiated, each of the plurality of irradiation patterns having different arrangement of the dark pixels and the light pixels from each other; and an irradiation control unit that controls the light irradiation unit based on the generated control information.

  • Patent number: 9129173
Abstract: There is provided a device for reading a code on a subject. The device includes an imaging unit provided with an imaging element, a depth-of-field extending unit, and an optical distorting unit. The imaging unit captures an optical image formed on a light-receiving surface of the subject. The depth-of-field extending unit acquires a focused image regardless of distance to the subject, within a predetermined read-out range. In the optical distorting unit, the captured optical image is distorted such that i) the focused image at a minimum distance in the read-out range includes an overall image of the code and ii) the focused image at a maximum distance in the read-out range is provided so as to allow at least a predetermined number of pixels to be assigned to a unit image of the code.

  • Patent number: 5517311
Abstract: A 3D volume measuring apparatus using an optical measuring technique performs an accurate measurement by using a common master clock signal to move a slit beam and to perform a measuring operation using the slit beam. An optical sensor has a slit beam source which projects the slit beam onto a surface of an object. A video camera receives an image of the optical cutting line. A master clock pulse generating unit is provided for generating master clock pulses. The slit beam is scanned on the object in synchronization with the master clock pulses. Information of the image of the optical cutting line is obtained in synchronization with the master clock pulses, so that the contour of the vertical section corresponding to the optical cutting line is obtained. A chamber volume correcting method using the 3D volume measuring apparatus is provided in which method an exact cutting depth for a cylinder head can be calculated so that a chamber of the cylinder head has an exact target volume.
