  • Patent number: 8595388
Abstract: One data processor is provided with an interface for realizing connection with the other data processor. This interface is provided with a function for connecting the other data processor as a bus master to an internal bus of the one data processor, and the relevant other data processor is capable of directly operating peripheral functions that are memory mapped to the internal bus from an external side via the interface. Accordingly, the data processor can utilize the peripheral functions of the other data processor without interruption of the program being executed. In short, one data processor can use in common the peripheral resources of the other data processor.

  • Publication number: 20130265431
Abstract: A monitor system is used for a vehicle equipped with a camera for capturing an image of a predetermined area outside the vehicle, a display device for displaying the captured image to a driver, and a mirror for reflecting the predetermined area. The monitor system includes a failure detector for detecting a failure of a function that allows the display device to display the captured image, a report device for causing the display device to display failure information when the failure detector detects the failure, and a state detector for detecting whether the mirror is in a state where the mirror reflects the predetermined area such that the driver views the predetermined area on the mirror. When the mirror is in the state, the report device causes the display device to delete or zoon out the displayed failure information.

Abstract: A surrounding image display system (1, 2) equipped for a vehicle includes a processing unit (10, 12) that is connected to a camera (20, 22) that captures an image around the vehicle. The processing unit (10, 12) processes the captured image from the camera (20, 22) to recognize an attention object, and generates a display image in which a frame border (70) that at least partially surrounds the recognized attention object is superimposed on the captured image. The frame border (70) includes a first frame border portion (72) drawn in a first color and a second frame border portion (74) drawn in a second color different from the first color.

  • Publication number: 20120314541
Abstract: An object detection apparatus disposed in a moving body generates a transmission signal of multiple pulse sequences as a plurality of sequences of multiple pulses. A modulation signal of the transmission signal is generated by performing digital modulation on each of the multiple pulse sequences of the transmission signal according to a code sequence. A transmission wave based on the modulation signal is transmitted and a reflected wave of the transmission wave is received by the apparatus. The apparatus further detects a speed of the moving body to determine a length of the code sequence. The apparatus calculates a code correlation value between the modulation signal and a received signal, which is derived from the reflected wave, and performs pulse compression on the received signal based on the code correlation value to generate a pulse-compressed received signal. The apparatus detects an object based on the pulse-compressed received signal.

  • Patent number: 8279279
Abstract: An image processing apparatus permits a user to readily recognize a current state of an angle of view. When an angle of view is switched from a wide-angle to a narrow-angle, range display is performed for a predetermined time prior to the switching. Range display includes a narrow-angle image frame formed with lines indicating a border of an image displayed for a predetermined time prior to the switching. After the predetermined time, a narrow-angle image is displayed and the range display is no longer displayed. The range display allows a user to readily recognize that the wide-angle image has been switched to the narrow-angle image by recognizing to what area in a pre-switching wide angle of view image the post-switching narrow-angle image corresponds.

  • Patent number: 8190324
Abstract: A portable information terminal stores first function list information indicating the contents of functions installed on a first vehicle. When a user carrying the terminal gets in a second vehicle before driving, the second vehicle acquires the first function list information from the terminal. The second vehicle compares the acquired first function list information with second function list information indicating the contents of functions installed on the second vehicle. The second vehicle acquires a functional difference between itself and the first vehicle and notifies the user of the difference.

  • Publication number: 20120117745
Abstract: An on-board optical sensor cover includes a holder and a washer nozzle. The holder holds an optical sensor. The optical sensor has a lens and is mounted above a window of a vehicle outside the vehicle. The washer nozzle performs a washing operation to wash a lens surface of the lens of the optical sensor held in the holder or a glass surface of a cover glass located facing the lens if the cover glass exists by spraying a washer fluid, supplied from a washer fluid tank, onto the lens surface or the glass surface. The optical sensor cover is located above the window outside the vehicle so that the washer fluid spayed from the washer nozzle flows to a window surface of the window after washing the lens surface or the glass surface.

  • Patent number: 8180109
Abstract: If a display mode is set to a narrow angle enlargement image mode, an enlargement image area is inputted via a touch panel. A transformation is made to compress an image of a not-enlargement image area other than the enlargement image area, and a narrow angle enlargement image is generated to enable simultaneously displaying, as a narrow angle enlargement image, (i) the enlarged image in the enlargement image area and (ii) the compressed image in the not-enlargement image area. When a warning target is detected, a corresponding image area is enlarged. An audio alarm is outputted via a speaker. Further, a new narrow angle enlargement image is generated so as to merge the initial narrow angle enlargement image with an image of enlarging the image area of the warning target. A display window including the new narrow angle enlargement image is then displayed in a display device.

  • Publication number: 20120101660
Abstract: A notification unit causes a notification device to notify that a consent input person has whereabouts of a responsibility related to a non-manipulation operation to operate a vehicle without manipulation of an occupant of the vehicle. An information acquisition unit obtains consent-input person information for identifying the consent input person who inputs a consent into an operation unit, after the notification unit notifies the whereabouts of the responsibility. A record unit associates consent information on the inputted consent with the obtained consent-input person information to cause a storage unit to store the associated information. A control unit starts the non-manipulation operation of the vehicle, in response to input of the consent, after the notification unit notifies the whereabouts of the responsibility.

  • Patent number: 8108660
Abstract: Each of processors has a barrier write register and a barrier read register. Each barrier write register is wired to each barrier read register by a dedicated wiring block. For example, a 1-bit barrier write register of a processor is connected, via the wiring block, to a first bit of each 8-bit barrier read register contained in the processors, and a 1-bit barrier write register of another processor is connected, via a wiring block, to a second bit of each 8-bit barrier read register contained in the processors. For example, a processor writes information to its own barrier write register, thereby notifying synchronization stand-by to the other processors and reads its own barrier read register, thereby recognizing whether the other processors are in synchronization stand-by or not. Therefore, a special dedicated instruction is not required along barrier synchronization processing, and the processing can be made at a high speed.

  • Patent number: 8099216
Abstract: A detector detects at least one of environmental information on the environment and physical information on the user's physical condition, when the user gets into a vehicle. Each of the environment and the physical condition is divided into a plurality of zones. A memory stores statistical data each representing the probability of the user selecting one of the driving positions in the vehicle in one of the zones. One of the driving positions can, from the probabilities allotted to them, be estimated to be optimum for the user in the zone into which the detected information falls. As a result, even if the user's preference in driving position changes with the environment or the user's physical condition in which the user gets into the vehicle, it is possible to adjust the driving position automatically according to the current preference.
