  • Patent number: 6189494
Abstract: When an engine is operated at a low and medium speed range, since the combustion pressure introduced into a pressure chamber of a valve drive unit is relatively small, a control valve is projected toward the cylinder by the biasing force of a spring so as to lower the upper edge of the exhaust port. At the same time, in conjunction with this motion of the control valve, a resonance chamber is opened so as to communicate between the resonance chamber and the exhaust port, thereby the engine power is increased. When the engine is operated at a high speed range, since the combustion pressure is relatively large, the control valve goes away from the cylinder so as to enlarge the exhaust port and at the same time, in conjunction with this motion of the control valve, the resonance chamber is closed, thereby the engine power is increased.

  • Patent number: 5701856
Abstract: A separate oiling type two cycle engine having a diaphragm type float-less carburetor including a metering chamber and a needle valve comprises a fuel reservoir for reserving fuel, a fuel supply port provided at the fuel reservoir for supplying fuel into the fuel reservoir, a fuel passage for connecting the fuel reservoir with the needle valve, a venturi provided immediately upstream of the needle valve, an oil discharge port provided adjacent to the inlet of the venturi for discharging lubricating oil therethrough so as to mix lubricating oil with fuel, and a fuel return port provided at the higher position than the fuel supply port for returning fuel to a fuel tank. Since lubricating oil is supplied to almost all major components of the carburetor, carburetor components such as a choke valve, a throttle valve, fuel passages, jets, metering needles, nozzles and the like can be prevented from being corroded, rusted or clogged by salt water contained in fuel.

  • Patent number: 5662074
Abstract: An exhaust port timing control apparatus for a two-cycle engine includes a control valve which is moved upward and downward in the linear direction across an exhaust port by moving the control valve slidably and rotatably around a supporting axis. The control valve is operated by rotating a pivot provided at an end portion of the control valve. Since the control valve moves linearly, the clearance between the control valve and the exhaust port can be kept very small, whereby the leakage of gas out of the cylinder can be minimized and consequently an accurate exhaust port timing control and a stable engine operation are achieved.

  • Patent number: 5150034
Abstract: An automatically charging system for an electric automobile calculates a terminal voltage of a battery and an output signal from a lux sensor is compared with a preliminarily set reference illumination to discriminate whether the automobile is indoors or outdoors. The terminal voltage is compared with preliminarily set lower and upper limit voltage. When the terminal voltage is lower than the lower limit voltage and when it is discriminated that the automobile is outdoors, it is discriminated that the engine starting condition is established. On the other hand, when it is discriminated that the automobile is indoors or when the terminal voltage is higher than the upper limit voltage, it is discriminated that the engine stopping condition is established. When the engine is started, the generator is automatically started and when the engine is stopping, the generator is automatically stopped.

  • Patent number: 5115183
Abstract: A battery charging system for a motor-generator, having a generator for charging a battery, and an engine for driving the generator, comprises a generator speed sensor for detecting a generator speed of the generator; and an engine speed control circuit for controlling an engine speed of the engine in the manner that the generator speed is set to a predetermined speed. The system can improve a charged efficiency and a long-life battery by charging the battery to control a speed of the generator so as to perform a feedback control of the engine without keeping the engine speed at a constant speed, and by adaptively controlling the battery by detecting gases occurring in the battery, namely, a gassing.

Abstract: An internal combustion engine comprises a cylinder, a piston reciprocating in the cylinder, piston rings arranged on the periphery of the piston, and at least a pair of oil ports symmetrically provided in a wall member of the cylinder. The oil ports communicate with the space between the wall member and the piston and are positioned to open onto the portion below the lowermost piston ring during the reciprocation of the piston. A system supplies a portion of the lubricating oil for the internal combustion engine under pressure to this space through the oil ports, and conduits communicate the oil ports with the supply system.

  • Patent number: 4033024
Abstract: Method for producing extruded structural profiles from aluminum or aluminum alloy scrap materials. The scrap materials are compacted under room temperature or under heat suitable for hot extrusion into a cylindrical body which is of such a dimension that is suitable for insertion into an extruder. The compacted body has an average density which is 70 to 86 percent of that of aluminum, and includes longitudinal air passages. Suction pressure is applied to the interior of the extruder during extruding process for removing air entrapped in the body, which may otherwise cause voids in the extruded products.
