  • Patent number: 8870778
Abstract: An intraluminal endoscope inserting method according to the present invention is a method of forming a first opening in a wall of a first luminal organ while observing optical and ultrasonic images formed by an ultrasonic endoscope inserted into a first luminal organ through a natural opening, forming a second opening in a wall of a desired second luminal organ adjacent to the first luminal organ through an abdominal cavity space from the first opening, leading the ultrasonic endoscope into a second luminal organ from a second opening and performing observation and treatment, and after the treatment and the like, stitching the openings. This makes it possible to insert the endoscope with a skill same as that required for a normal endoscope test and makes it easy to insert the endoscope even into luminal organs irregularly connected to with one another in a body cavity.

  • Patent number: 7736376
Abstract: A living-wall fixing tool for use with endoscopes, including first and second fixing members, first and second cord like members, an elastic stopper, and a slackening means. The first fixing member is to be inserted into a second organ through a hole formed through first and second organs. The second fixing member is to be detained in the first organ. The stopper is slidably mounted on the first cord-like member. The slackening means slackens the first cord-like member. When the slackening means is operated, the second cord-like member is pulled, whereby the first fixing member is pulled into the first organ through the hole.

  • Publication number: 20080319257
Abstract: A living-wall fixing tool for use with endoscopes has a first second fixing member, a second fixing member, a first cord-like member, a second cord-like member, an elastic stopper, and slackening means. The first fixing member is to be inserted into a second organ through a hole formed in a junction between a first living wall of a first organ and a second living wall of the second organ. The second fixing member is to be detained in the first organ, not inserted into the hole. The first cord-like member has a distal end part connected to the first fixing member and a proximal part extending away from the first fixing a member through the second fixing member. The second cord-like member has a distal end part connected to an end of the first fixing member and a proximal part extending away from the first fixing member through the second fixing member. The stopper is slidably mounted on the first cord-like member. The slackening means slackens the first cord-like member.

  • Publication number: 20080051655
Abstract: An ultrasonic endoscope includes an insertion section, an operation section, an optical observation system, and an ultrasonic observation system. The optical observation system is disposed in the insertable section, and has an objective lens located on a face of a distal end of the insertion section. The ultrasonic observing system is disposed in the insertion section, and has an ultrasonic transducer disposed on the face of the distal end of the insertion section or further forward than the distal end.

  • Publication number: 20030187319
Abstract: A sentinel lymph node detecting apparatus comprises an endoscope, a visible-light CCU and infrared CCU, which are detachably connected to the endoscope, a superimposing circuit for superimposing the image output from the infrared CCU on the image output from the visible-light CCU, a monitor for displaying the image superimposed by the superimposing circuit, and a fluctuating magnetic field generating device for generating a fluctuating magnetic field for vibrating ferrofluid which has been accumulated in sentinel lymph nodes as a tracer beforehand, so as to heat the ferrofluid. A computer color-enhanced infrared image obtained by an infrared sensor is superimposed on an endoscope image obtained by visible-light CCD, and the synthesized endoscope infrared image is displayed on a display screen of the monitor.

  • Publication number: 20030187349
Abstract: A sentinel lymph node detecting system comprises an inserting portion with a small diameter which can be inserted into the body cavity, an X-ray detecting unit for two-dimensionally detecting X-rays, and an optical imaging unit 3 for taking visible-light images, which are mounted to the tip of the inserting portion. The X-ray detecting unit and the optical imaging unit are disposed along the longitudinal direction of the inserting portion, and are closely disposed one to another so as to observe in the same direction. A radioactive tracer accumulated in sentinel lymph nodes is detected by the X-ray detecting unit. The X-ray detected image is smaller in size than the image taken by the optical imaging unit. Thus, sentinel lymph nodes can be quickly identified in a sure manner, and further, the load placed on a patient, such as the need to perform laparotomy, can be reduced.
