    Abstract: According to one embodiment, a wireless apparatus determines a state of a first wireless link with a first mobile station and a state of a second wireless link with a second mobile station in a first communication mode, and transmits a first signal to the first and the second mobile stations in accordance with the states of the first and the second wireless links. In response to the first signal, the first communication mode is changed to a second communication mode in which the wireless apparatus communicates with the second mobile station via a direct communication between the first and the second mobile stations.
