  • Publication number: 20070072923
Abstract: The present invention provides a process for producing 2?-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)biphenyl-4-carbaldehyde which comprises reacting 2?-cyanobiphenyl-4-carbaldehyde with a salt of azide; a process for producing a highly pure crystal of 2?-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)biphenyl-4-carbaldehyde which comprises reacting 2?-cyanobiphenyl-4-carbaldehyde with a salt of azide, obtaining a crystal of 2?-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)biphenyl-4-carbaldehyde, dissolving said crystal obtained and recrystallizing a highly pure crystal in tetrahydrofuran; and the like. According to the present process, 2?-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)biphenyl-4-carbaldehyde which is useful as a synthetic intermediate of medicines can be produced in a short process at high yield and high purity.

  • Patent number: 6720108
Abstract: After a negative electrode current collector has been inserted into an insertion hole therein, a resin sealing element and negative electrode terminal plate are successively inserted into an aperture of a battery casing, and the aperture rim of battery casing is then bent inwards and crimped to seal aperture of battery casing. Sealing element is accommodated within battery casing in an arrangement facing negative electrode terminal plate, with resin injection gate corresponding to resin injection port of metal molds during resin molding thereof positioned at the aperture end of battery casing.

  • Patent number: 6332139
Abstract: In information interchange between a first station and a second station, the second station changes and recognizes the semantic contents of information transmitted from the first station on the basis of information in an information base in response to the first station and determines the optimum response on the basis of the result of the recognition for selecting, manipulating or converting information optimum for each first station with information in the information base and transmitting the same to the first station on the basis of the determination. The quantity of information to be extracted from a user can be reduced by employing the information already present in the information base, for reaching desired information with a sense as if a familiar operator talks with the user. Thus, information service convenient for the user is provided.

  • Patent number: 5538578
Abstract: A method of joining end portions of a weatherstrip consists of introducing the end portions to openings in a mold such that a seal portion of the weatherstrip is compressed substantially to the shape of a seal lip of the seal portion. The end portions are separated in the mold by a predetermined gap and a rubber material is injected into the gap for mutually bonding the end portions of the weatherstrip. Such a method of joining allows the weatherstrip to be installed on complexly shaped openings with no degradation of sealing characteristics over the perimeter covered by the weatherstrip. A molding apparatus for joining said end portions includes a clamping member for assuring correct positioning of a sealing edge of the weatherstrip.

  • Patent number: 5316557
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process to manufacture alkaline cells by applying electrically conductive paint on an inner wall area of cathode container which contacts with cathode molds, and by heating said cathode container itself by applying electromagnetic induction in order to dry and/or cure the paint and to form a uniform electrically conductive coating layer adhered firmly on the inner wall of said container. By employing this process, continuous production of alkaline cells having excellent and uniform load characteristics which deteriorate very little became possible.
