    Abstract: A sorter includes a sheet processing device, a plurality of bin trays arranged in a vertical direction, each bin tray having a specified width and length and adapted for bearing a sheet, shifting means for shifting the plurality of bin trays in the vertical direction, and moving means for moving the bin tray in a predetermined position in a lengthwise direction of the bin tray so that the sheet on the bin tray is processed by the sheet processing device. The bin tray can be moved to a position where sheet processing is to be applied by the sheet processing device.

    Abstract: An automatic sheet processing device mountable on a sorting unit of an image forming apparatus includes a sheet processor for applying a sheet processing to a sheet having a specified length and width, a moving unit capable of supporting the sheet processor for moving the sheet processor along a side of the sheet, and a controller having a storage unit for storing sheet processing data, a calculator for calculating a processing position from the sheet processing data, and a control portion for controlling the moving unit so as to move the sheet processor to the calculated processing position. The processing position is calculated from the stored sheet processing data, and the sheet processor is moved to the calculated processing position, so that sheet processing can be automatically.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a document pusher plate to be used in an image forming equipment in which a document pusher plate which can be freely opened and closed by a hinge mechanism is mounted on a document set plate of the image forming equipment and a document is fed to the position of exposure on the document set plate or delivered from the position of exposure by rotating or reversing document transfer means arranged at the side of a document feeding device in the document pusher plate. This document pusher plate is provided with a reinforcement plate at the side of the document transfer means at the rear side thereof, and one end of the reinforcement plate is linked with the hinge mechanism, thereby causing warping or deflection of the document pusher plate to be prevented, accomplishing low cost of the production and light weight, and causing the document transfer to be accurate and stabilized by means of an automatic document feeding unit.

    Abstract: An automatic document conveying device for use with an image processing machine having a transparent plate on which to place documents. The device includes an opening-closing frame and a document table. A conveyor roller is rotatably mounted in the opening-closing frame. A document delivery device is provided for delivering sheet-like documents from the document table. The document delivered from the document table is introduced into a required position on the transparent plate by the conveyor roller. The rotation of the conveyor roller in the introducing direction is stopped while the introduced document is still between the conveyor roller and the transparent plate. A guiding device which permits advance of the document from the document table to the transparent plate but hampers movement of the document from the transparent plate toward the document table and defects it upwardly, is provided between the document table and the conveyor roller.

    Abstract: A color image printing apparatus prints one pixel by superposing a predetermined dots of three colors within a 3.times.3 dot matrix in accordance with a density of the pixel. The positions of the printed dots within the dot matrix are stored as a dot pattern for each color. One dot pattern is used for each of a plurality of densities included in one density range. The printing energy for each of the dots included in the dot pattern is controlled in accordance with the density level of the pixel. The dot pattern is different for each color and three dot patterns are stored for each color and for each density range. These three dot patterns are repeatedly used for every three pixels which are continuous in the horizontal direction. These three dot patterns have two or three texture directions. The texture direction other than the vertical direction is different for each color.

Apparatus for adjusting the toner concentration in a two-component type developer includes a mechanism for forming a magnetic brush from a mixture of a magnetic carrier and an electroscopic toner and for delivering the magnetic brush. The mechanism includes a support formed of an electroconductive non-magnetic material and a magnet having a plurality of poles and being built in the interior of the support. At least one of the support and magnet is movable.

    Abstract: In a method and apparatus for developing a latent electrostatic image formed on the surface of an image-bearing material by applying a powdery developer thereto, which includes magnetically retaining a layer of a relatively conductive one-component developer having a resistivity of not more than 10.sup.13 ohms-cm on the surface of a developer-retaining member, and bringing the developer on the surface of the developer-retaining member into contact with the surface of the image bearing material, the improvement wherein the developer-retaining member has a resistance, measured by a point-plane resistance measuring method in an environment kept at a temperature of 20.degree. C. and a humidity of 50%, of from 3.times.10.sup.7 ohms to 1.times.10.sup.10 ohms. The improved method makes possible good development without causing a background fog or a tail effect.
