  • Patent number: 5630668
Abstract: A rolling bearing includes an outer raceway, an inner raceway, a plurality of rolling elements interposed between the outer raceway and the inner raceway, and a cage for holding the rolling elements away from each other at the same interval in a rolling direction of the rolling elements, the cage including a first layer subjected to a surface treatment of at least one of carbonitriding, phosphating, sulfonitriding and gas soft nitfriding, and a second layer formed of at least one of PTFE, MoS.sub.2, WS.sub.2, Ag and Sn when the first layer includes a treated surface subjected to the surface treatment of phosphating. The rolling bearing can stabilize the attitude of the rolling elements and retain the ease of grinding them. At the same time, the dynamic torque of the rolling elements can be minimized while insuring to prevent the rolling elements from falling away from the cage.

  • Patent number: 5575570
Abstract: A cage for a rolling bearing; the cage is obtained by molding a resin composition comprising 100 parts by weight of a heat-resistant and oil-resistant resin and from 5 to 100 parts by weight of a polyolefin and immersing the resulting molded article in a lubricating oil. Also is disclosed is a rolling bearing with the cage fitted therein and having been subjected to oil plating.

  • Patent number: 5009520
Abstract: A dynamic pressure type bearing is applicable to a precision mechanical equipment. The bearing includes a hollow inner cylinder to fit a rotatable shaft. The inner cylinder is made of a thermosetting resin containing a 5 wt % to 75 wt % heat treated phenol resin powder and a 5 wt % to 75 wt % silicon dioxide, the total content of the phenol resin powder and the silicon dioxide being 50 wt % to 80 wt %. A spindle unit includes the bearing and a spindle made of an alloy containing aluminum as a main element. The bearing has a superior wear resistance, frictional characteristic and molding accuracy of the inner cylinder. The superior frictional characteristic of the inner cylinder allows a relatively soft spindle to be used in a spindle unit.
