  • Patent number: 9673428
Abstract: A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery is provided, including a battery element having a positive electrode, a negative electrode and a separator; an exterior member for the battery element including: a first layer; a second layer; a bending part for partitioning the first layer and the second layer from each other; a sealing part which is formed by a peripheral part of the first layer in contact with a peripheral part of the second layer and which seals the battery element; a thick-walled part that is a portion of the sealing part and includes at least a part of the bending part, wherein the thick-walled part has a greater thickness in a thickness direction of the battery element than a thickness of a portion of the sealing part other than the thick-walled part, and wherein the thickness direction of the battery element corresponds to a stacking direction of the battery element.

  • Patent number: 9070927
Abstract: An exterior member for a battery element includes: a first sheet piece made of a laminated sheet; a second sheet piece made of a laminated sheet; a bending part for partitioning the first sheet piece and the second sheet piece from each other; a sealing part which is formed by a peripheral part of the first sheet piece and a peripheral part of the second sheet piece corresponding to the peripheral part of the first sheet piece and which hermetically seals a battery element; and a thick-walled part formed so as to include at least a part of the bending part.

  • Patent number: 8092937
Abstract: A battery pack includes a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery, a rigid covering member, and a protection circuit board. The secondary battery includes a battery element and a flexible covering member formed of a first laminated film composed of a first heat-bonding layer, a first metal layer, and a first outer covering layer laminated successively. The flexible covering member is sealed along around the battery element while leaving electrode terminals of the positive and negative electrodes extended outside the battery element. The rigid covering member is formed of a second laminated film composed of a second heat-bonding layer, a second metal layer, and a second outer covering layer laminated successively. The flexible covering member and the rigid covering member are bonded with an adhesive strength equal to or higher than atmospheric pressure and with a peel strength equal to or lower than a breaking strength of the flexible covering member.

  • Patent number: 7709114

The secondary battery includes a battery element and a flexible covering member formed of a first laminated film composed of a first heat-bonding layer, a first metal layer, and a first outer covering layer which are laminated successively. The flexible covering material is sealed along around the battery element while leaving electrode terminals of the positive and negative electrodes extended outside the battery element. The rigid covering member covers the non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery together with the flexible covering member, and is formed of a second laminated film composed of a second heat-bonding layer, a second metal layer, and a second outer covering layer which are laminated successively. The flexible covering member and the rigid covering member are bonded by melting the second heat-bonding layer without melting the first outer covering layer.
