  • Patent number: 4713670
Abstract: A microwave plane antenna comprises a plurality of pairs of antenna elements connected at their one end to a power supply circuit and respectively including at the other terminating end an impedance-matched patch antenna means, whereby signal energy remaining at the terminating ends of the antenna elements is caused to be effectively utilized as radiation energy, and any power loss is restrained for a high antenna gain and improved aperture efficiency.

  • Patent number: 4475107
Abstract: A circularly polarized microstrip line antenna has a dielectric substrate having a ground plate formed on one surface thereof and at least a pair of stripline conductors on the other surface. Each stripline conductor consists of a plurality of crank type fundamental elements, each element consists of a pair of straight portions each having a length a, and U-shaped portion consisting of a pair of arm pieces, each having a length b, and a single base piece having a length c. The lengths a, b and c are chosen to satisfy the following equations:0<b.ltoreq.1/2.lambda.gwhere .lambda.g is a guide wavelength,2a={(-n-m.-+.T).lambda.g-b}/(1-.eta. cos .theta.m)wherem and n are integers,T=1/.pi. Tan.sup.-1 {sin .theta.m/(1-.eta. cos .theta.m)}.eta.=.lambda.g/.lambda..sub.0where.theta.m is an angle of main beam direction, .eta. is the effective wavelength reduction rate and, .lambda..sub.0 is free space wavelength and:C=}(m.+-.T).lambda.g-b}/(1-.eta. cos .theta.m)optimally, b=3/8.lambda.g.

  • Patent number: 4398199
Abstract: A circularly polarized microstrip line antenna for receiving or transmitting a signal of a particular wavelength includes a dielectric substrate having a ground plate provided on one surface thereof and having a microstrip line formed on another surface thereof. The microstrip line has an omega shaped fundamental portion composed of a loop portion and a pair of straight portions. The loop portion is one of either a regular polygon or a continuous closed curve having a length equal to the particular wavelength. The loop portion is symmetric about an axis which is on one of the surfaces of the substrate and is at right angles to the straight portions of the microstrip line.
