  • Patent number: 8579043
Abstract: It is an object of the invention to provide a technique for bringing a center of gravity of a battery-powered power tool closer to a working axis of a tool bit in the battery-powered power tool. The battery-powered power tool performs an operation by movement of a tool bit 119 in an axial direction of the tool bit. The power tool includes a battery 110, a motor 111 that is driven by power supply from the battery 110, a mechanical arrangement 113, 115, 117 that drives the tool bit 119 by rotative power transmitted from the motor 111, and a tool body 103 that houses the motor 111 and the mechanical arrangement 113, 115, 117 and has a front end region in which the tool bit 119 is disposed. A sum of weights of the motor 111 and the battery 110 is smaller than a weight of the mechanical arrangement 113, 115, 117.

  • Patent number: 7410009
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide an improved technique for preventing leakage of lubricant from an accommodating space that houses a driving mechanism, while regulating the internal pressure of the accommodating space in a power tool. A representative power tool includes a power tool body, a tool bit, a driving mechanism, a lubricant, an accommodating space, a passage and a lubricant leakage preventing region. The accommodating space is disposed in the body to house the driving mechanism and is hermetically sealed. The passage has an accommodating space side opening and an outside opening. The passage extends, starting from the accommodating space side opening, in a direction away from the outside opening. Then, the passage turns around and extends toward the outside opening. Further, the lubricant leakage preventing region is provided with the passage to prevent the lubricant from leaking from the inside to the outside of the accommodating space.

  • Patent number: 6176321
Abstract: A power-driven hammer drill 1 includes a rotary lever 8 for transmitting and disabling the transmission of the rotation of a motor 5 to a tool bit 4 and a slide lever 9 for transmitting and disabling the transmission of hammer blows to the tool bit 4. The rotary lever 8 is formed with a chamfer 52, whereas the slide lever 9 is formed with a straight portion 54 and a cut-out 53 which conforms to the circular edge of the rotary lever 8. When the slide lever 9 is in the lowermost position with the rotary lever 8 fitted in the cut-out 53, the rotary lever 8 is in the position to disconnect the rotation of the motor 5 to the tool bit 4, and while in this position, the slide lever 9 cannot be slid to its uppermost position, in which hammer blows cannot be transmitted to the tool bit 4.
