  • Patent number: 5832510
Abstract: There is provided an information processing system in which files on plural file servers having different file management manners can be efficiently accessed by a single client program, a control method for the information processing system, and a storage medium for storing programs for performing the control. A gateway program 20 is provided on a first server information processing device 120, and an agent program 30 which is operated in conformity with the gateway program 20 is provided on a second server information processing device 130, whereby a copy of the directory structure of files on the second server information processing device is created on the first server information processing device 120. In addition, at the time when the copy is created, data in a file are not copied, and the data copy is performed only when the file is opened by an application program 8a of a client information processing device 110.

  • Patent number: 5826016
Abstract: When transmitting a pass-word updating request transmitted from a local host to a remote host via a network, both a present pass-word and a new pass-word are enciphered with the present pass-word of a user as a key of enciphering and then are transmitted. The remote host fetches the present pass-word from a pass-word table on the basis of a user ID and then deciphers the pass-word updating request transmitted thereto with the resultant present pass-word as a key of deciphering. Then, only when the specified present pass-word in the pass-word updating request frame matches with the present pass-word registrated in the pass-word table, the remote host updates the present pass-word into the specified new pass-word.

  • Patent number: 5790777
Abstract: A computer system analysis device (100) has an alternative system (7b) for monitoring a computer system (7a) to be analyzed. The operation flow is switched from the system (7a) to the alternative system (7b) when a system failure of the system (7a) happens. A data searching section (10) fetches data value stored in a crash dump file (8b), a device file (8c), and the like as data collection files by using address data obtained from a kernel load module file (8a) corresponding to data items of a system failure requested by an input/output section (9) through which an operator requests to the device (100) to display data items and values thereof stored in the data collection files. The input/output section (9) receives the data items and values thereof from the data searching section (10) and displays them per page. The systems (7a, 7b) are made up of different processor systems, respectively.

  • Patent number: 5225910
Abstract: A cooperative adaptive low noise television system provides that, prior to transmission, the composite video is separated into chroma and luminance components. The luminance signal is adaptively pre-emphasized, with the amount of pre-emphasis being determined by the luminance transitions level, so that small transitions have more pre-emphasis than large ones. In the receiver, a received luminence signal is submitted to adaptive deemphasis in order to precisely cancel the adaptive pre-emphasis provided prior to transmission, thus reducing transmission noise while restituting a luminance signal free of pre-shoot, over-shoot or resolution losses.

  • Patent number: 5208670
Abstract: A television system, in which a picture is transmitted from an oblong screen to a television screen having an aspect ratio of 3:4, which is different from that of the oblong screen, and wherein no-picture portions are developed within upper and lower sections of the television screen, signals are transmitted into such upper and lower no-picture portions of the television screen in accordance with detected non-moving and moving picture portions of the oblong screen so as to improve the resolution of the picture image displayed upon the television screen.

  • Patent number: 5064874
Abstract: An extruded synthetic resin foam comprises a cell structure of substantially two different cell sizes, the smaller size being not more than about 0.25 mm while the other size is from about 0.4 to about 1 mm. The cells are dispersed in an island in the sea manner. A foam such as a styrenic foam is produced by forming a mixture of synthetic resin, a fine mineral powder having hydroxyl groups, and a cell controlling agent, incorporating a volatile foaming agent and extruding the mixture to form a foam. The powder has a particle size of not more than 1000 nm and may be a silica having silanol groups.
