  • Patent number: 7432998
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device 1 having a liquid crystal display panel 2, a flexible printed circuit board 4, an optical member 7, a case 6 for housing the above-mentioned members, and a front frame 13 for fixing the members housed in the case 6, in which the flexible printed circuit board 4 is folded to form at least two layers and passes through the rear surface of the case 6 via slits 6e?, 8e? provided at the bottom of an optical member 7 and the case 6, and attached to the rear surface of the case 6. Further, protrusions 12a, 12b are formed on the rear surface of the case 6, and openings 41, 42 and 41?, 42? are formed on the board to fit the protrusions for fixing the flexible printed circuit board 4, and the flexible printed circuit board is fixed to the rear surface of the case 6 by fitting the openings 41, 42 and 41?, 42? to the protrusions 12a, 12b. Consequently, it is possible to provide a liquid crystal display device to which a long flexible printed circuit board is mounted in a compact state.

  • Publication number: 20070171675
Abstract: When viewed from the end face side of a light guide plate, all linear lamps in a backlight may be arranged to be able to be viewed directly without being intercepted by other lamps and supported by a spacer. A lamp reflector may have a back surface facing the plurality of linear lamps, and a side face for supporting the back surface against the light guide plate, wherein the back surface may have a reflective surface projecting inward at the central part along the longitudinal direction of the reflector. Luminance of the light guide plate may be enhanced by utilizing lights exiting the linear lamps efficiently in the backlight of a large liquid crystal display, appropriate intervals may be sustained among the plurality of linear lamps, and luminance lowering due to high frequency interference caused by a contact of each linear lamp with a reflector may be prevented.

  • Patent number: 7206037
Abstract: In a display module having a picture-frame-shaped front frame, notches are formed at both ends of one side edge thereof so as to penetrate from the front surface to the rear surface thereof. This helps realize a compact display unit. Moreover, a metal film or the like is formed on a flexible printed circuit used in the display module, and the flexible printed circuit is fixed to a metal rear casing with a detachable protective plate. This helps realize a display module that permits easy attachment and detachment of a flexible printed circuit and in which sufficient shielding against EMI (the metal film is grounded via the rear casing) is achieved.
