  • Publication number: 20200049794
Abstract: A radar system detects an object using radar waves and includes an antenna surface and a cover part. The antenna surface is provided with at least one array antenna arranged on a collinear arrangement straight line. The cover part covers the front of an antenna of the array antenna, where the front of the antenna is the side away from which radar waves are radiated with respect to the antenna surface as a boundary. The at least one array antenna is provided with at least one unit antenna where a plurality of antenna elements that radiate radar waves of the same phase are arranged in the same direction as the arrangement straight line. The unit antenna is arranged in a direction perpendicular to the arrangement straight line along the antenna surface. The cover part is configured such that the incidence angle of the radar waves is equal to or less than a Brewster angle.

Abstract: An antenna device includes a dielectric substrate, a ground plane, an antenna unit, and an additional functional unit. The dielectric substrate includes a plurality of pattern formation layers. The ground plane is formed on a first pattern formation layer included in the plurality of pattern formation layers, and acts as an antenna grounding surface. • Patent number: 10446940
Abstract: An antenna apparatus is equipped with a plurality of antennas arrayed in line. Ones of the antennas which lie at ends of the array of the antennas are referred to as end-side antennas, while the other antennas are referred to as inner antennas. The end-side antennas have a structure different from that of the inner antennas so as to decrease a difference in directionality between the antennas used as feed elements, thereby improving the accuracy in determining an arrival direction in a simple way without increasing an amount of calculation.

  • Publication number: 20190302226
Abstract: A radar apparatus includes an antenna unit and a cover unit. The cover unit is arranged at a position through which an electromagnetic wave sent and received by the antenna unit passes. The cover unit has, in an order from closer to the antenna unit, a first dielectric layer formed of a dielectric and a second dielectric layer formed of a dielectric having a dielectric constant different from that of the first dielectric layer. The first dielectric layer is configured to have a thickness not more than that for a maximum external transmittance. The external transmittance indicates a transmittance of an electromagnetic wave, which is emitted in a direction of an incidence angle with respect to the first dielectric layer, which is equal to a maximum sensing angle, when the electromagnetic wave is transmitted through the cover unit.

  • Publication number: 20190271762
Abstract: A radar apparatus that detects an object using radiated waves includes: an antenna surface that includes an element unit that emits a radiated wave for a radar; and a cover member that covers the antenna surface to protect the element unit. The cover member includes an inner refractive surface that is an inner side surface of the cover member on which an undesired wave is incident and is formed into a shape that refracts the undesired wave incident on the inner refractive surface so as to advance towards antenna rear. The antenna rear is a side opposite an antenna front that is a side on which the radiated wave is emitted, with the antenna surface as a boundary. Undesired waves are radiated waves that are emitted outside a range of a predetermined solid angle relative to a normal direction of the antenna surface from a center of the antenna surface from which the radiated waves are emitted.

  • Publication number: 20180224542
Abstract: An antenna apparatus has an antenna unit. The antenna unit transmits or receives a probe wave made of an electromagnetic wave. A magnet is disposed at a location through which the probe wave to be received by the antenna unit passes. The magnet works to generate a magnetic field along a direction in which the probe wave propagates. A polarizing filter is arranged on an opposite side of a magnetic body to the antenna unit. This minimizes the interference between an emitted wave and a reflected wave created by a cover, such as a bumper, regardless of the configuration of the cover.

  • Patent number: 7314427
Abstract: A driving force transmission apparatus is provided for a twin clutch transmission with two clutches, that are controlled a gear change control without a torque cutting out to reduce slapping sounds of the gears by performing a pre-shift operation before the gear shift control. For instance, in an up-shift operation from second speed to third speed, the clutch that transmits torque to the third speed gear set is slip-engaged and one gear of the third speed gear set is connected through a synchronous engagement device to a countershaft. During the pre-shift, a sub torque transmission path that is formed transmits engine torque of the engine, a crankshaft, the clutch, a first input shaft, the third speed gear set, the countershaft, and a differential gear system, preventing the first input shaft from becoming idle and the slapping sound of the gears in an engagement part of the third speed gear set.
