  • Patent number: 9186822
Abstract: A mold 20B for foam molding which allows efficient production of the foam molded product with accurately finished outer surface, and easy release of the molded product from the mold in the foam molding method is formed of an upper mold portion 21B and a lower mold portion 22B. The gas feed means 23 formed of the valve box 25, the valve element 26 and the like is attached to an opening formed in the bottom surface of the lower mold portion 22B. The recess portions 51 are formed in each part of the opposite side surfaces 50a and 50c of the cavity 50. The protruding portions 52 are formed on the lower surface of the upper mold portion 21B so as to be fit to the corresponding recess portion 51. Upon completion of curing, the upper mold portion is separated to open the mold, air is supplied into the valve box 25 such that air is fed to a space between the molded product 31B and the bottom surface of the lower mold portion 22B to push up the molded product 31B so as to be released from the mold.

  • Patent number: 7966702
Abstract: An energy absorption (EA) member is provided with a clip, and a structure for securing the EA member. A clip 20 has a flange 21, a shaft 22 projecting from the flange 21, an anchor 23 spreading from an end of the shaft 22, a cut 24 provided in the anchor 23, and a locking section 30 projecting from the flange 21 on a side opposite the shaft 22. The locking section 30 has a cylindrical upright segment 31 standing upright from the flange 21, and a resilient locking piece 32 projecting laterally from the side surface of the upright segment 31. The EA member 1 is put on metal panel 2A or 2B while the clip 20 is inserted into a hole 4 provided in the metal panel 2A or 2B. A projecting point 40 is passed through the hole 4, to hold the EA member 1 to the metal panel.

  • Patent number: 7547061
Abstract: In an attachment structure of an EA component, the EA component composed of a synthetic resin such as rigid urethane foam is attached to a trim serving as a member, with a first locking part therebetween. The first locking part includes a cylindrical part, an anchor, a flange, and a plurality of projections. The anchor has a flange shape extending from the rear end of the cylindrical part toward the outside. The flange extends from the leading end of the cylindrical part toward the outside. The projections protrude from the leading end of the cylindrical part in the direction parallel to the axis of the cylindrical part. The EA component is attached to the trim by setting the EA component on the trim while the projections are inserted in an opening.

  • Patent number: 7475934
Abstract: A mounting structure for an EA material is provided in which the EA material can be easily mounted to a member such as a trim, and EA materials of various shapes, sizes, and hardness degrees can be securely mounted to the member. An EA material 1 made of a synthetic resin such as rigid urethane foam is mounted to a trim 2, which serves as a member, via a rib 3 and a clip 4. The EA material 1 is mounted to the trim 2 by applying the EA material 1 to the trim 2 while inserting the rib 3 into a concave slit 7. When the EA material 1 is pressed against the trim 2, ribs 3 and 3A are pressed into concave slits 7 and 7A while sliding against the leading ends of respective pawls 5. Then, the leading ends of the respective pawls 5 dig into the side circumferential surfaces of the ribs 3 and 3A, and the ribs 3 and 3A are prevented from escaping from the concave slits 7 and 7A. Thereby, the EA material 1 is mounted to the trim 2.
