  • Patent number: 8439652
Abstract: A suction throttle valve of a variable displacement compressor having a compressor housing includes a suction chamber, a crank chamber, an inlet, a suction passage, a valve body, a valve housing, an urging member, a valve chamber, and a communication hole. The valve body is provided for adjusting an opening area of the suction passage and movably arranged in the suction passage. The urging member urges the valve body in the direction that decreases the opening area of the suction passage. The communication hole is provided for connecting the suction chamber to the valve housing. An opening area of the communication hole is variable in accordance with the movement of the valve body. Accordingly, the opening area of the communication hole becomes maximum during the maximum displacement operation of the compressor and becomes reduced during the intermediate displacement operation of the compressor.

  • Patent number: 5012932
Abstract: Uninspected bundles of paper sheets are supplied to each of a plurality of pre-processors in units of bundles. Each pre-processor removes a band from the uninspected bundle, prints a serial number in association with the received paper sheets on the band, and holds the band. A number of reusable paper sheets from which the band is removed are counted by and stored in a corresponding inspection device. Each inspection device stores the serial number printed on the band by the preprocessor. In each inspection device, the paper sheets to be re-inspected are sorted by a separator card in units of bundles and stored as rejectable notes in a rejectable note cassette. A center console receives data such as a count result, band number, cassette number, card number, and the like, from each inspection device, and sequentially stores these data in units of inspection devices.

  • Patent number: 4845917
Abstract: A banknote processing system includes a handling apparatus, a convey mechanism, and a plurality of inspecting apparatuses. The handling apparatus has an input portion on which a predetermined number of bundles of banknotes are placed. The bundles are taken out one by one from the input portion by a take-out device and are transferred to the inspecting apparatus by the convey mechanism. In the inspecting apparatus, the banknotes are picked up one by one from the bundles, so as to be inspected. The inspected banknotes are banded to form inspected bundles and are discharged from the inspecting apparatus. The discharged bundles are then transferred by the convey mechanism, and stacked on a stacking portion of the handling apparatus by a take-in device.

  • Patent number: 4629174
Abstract: In a paper sheet collecting apparatus according to the present invention, paper sheets successively fed from a conveying path are guided and collected into a collecting chamber, held between vanes of a rotating vane wheel, is provided with a separator which can rock around the rotating shaft of the vane wheel and also move in the radial direction of the rotating shaft. In distributing the paper sheets, the separator is rocked through a predetermined angle and then moved radially, so that succeeding paper sheets guided by the vane wheel are temporarily and assortatively collected on the separator.

  • Patent number: 4539789
Abstract: In a bundling apparatus, a main clamping mechanism presses a stack of paper sheets in the direction of thickness of the stack and holds the stack. A band is wound by a winder around the stack of paper sheets held by the main clamping mechanism. The end portions of the band wound around the stack of paper sheets are bonded by a heat-bonding mechanism. Specified data is stamped on the band wound around the stack by a data-stamping mechanism which includes a stamp bearing the specified data and a drive mechanism for bringing the stamp into contact with the band while the end portions of the band are being bonded to each other.

  • Patent number: 4501418
Abstract: In the stacking device for paper notes according to the present invention, the notes are successively transported edgewise and discharged from a transporting passage. Each discharged note is held between two adjacent blades of a rotating wheel, and is rotated toward a stacking box. A note edge contacting member is positioned along the path of the note as it rotates toward the stacking cradle. This note edge contacting member functions to maintain alignment of the notes by preventing projection of the notes and eliminating electrostatic charge caused by contact with the rotating blades. As a result, the notes are temporarily and evenly stacked.

  • Patent number: 4499709
Abstract: In a bundling apparatus, a stack of sheets is wound with a band coated on one side with a thermally fusible material by a winder. The winder winds the band so that one end of the band is joined with another portion of the band. As the band is wound around the stack of sheets, a forward end portion of the band is turned up by a turning mechanism, thereby forming a turnup portion in the band. The turnup portion and that portion of the band which is joined with the turnup portion is fused by a heater so that both portions are bonded together.

  • Patent number: 4492072
Abstract: In a bundling apparatus, a carrier of a transfer mechanism is moved by a motor of a first driving mechanism from a carrier home position to a carrier stop position after a stack of sheets are set on the carrier and then moved from the carrier stop position to the carrier home position. On the other hand, a catcher of a winding mechanism is moved along a line of movement including a catcher home position below the sheets on the carrier and a catcher intermediate position above the sheets. The line of movement lies between the carrier home position and the carrier stop position. The catcher is moved by the second driving mechanism from the catcher home position to the catcher intermediate position before the carrier moved from the carrier home position toward the carrier stop position by the first driving mechanism crosses the line of the movement, and is moved from the catcher intermediate position to the catcher home position after the carrier crosses the line of movement.

  • Patent number: 4470590
Abstract: Paper currency notes, transported edgewise one by one, are discharged from a transport passage. Each discharged note is held between blades of a rotating blade wheel and moves along with the rotation of the wheel. The notes are then separated from the blades by a checking wall of a stacking box, and stacked in the stacking box. When a predetermined number of notes, for example 100, are stacked in the stacking box, a rotating sectional stacking member is rotated along with the wheel and stops in advance of the stacking box so as to separate the 100th note from the 101st. Since the rotation sectional stacking member has the same axis of rotation as the blade wheel and moves at the same speed, there is must less danger of disruption of the smooth flow of notes.

  • Patent number: 4378109
Abstract: A device for detecting the thickness of paper sheet such as bank note used for a paper sheet transfer system comprises a thickness detection roll rotatably supported at a free end of a pivotal lever and urged against a paper sheet transfer roll, via a paper sheet when the paper sheet is transferred therebetwen. The pivotal lever is pivotally supported by a lever mounting unit, which is detachably mounted on a frame of the transfer system. The lever mounting unit is positioned in a predetermined mounting position by positioning pins and locked at that position by a fixing means including a toggle mechanism. With a change of the thickness of paper sheet being transferred the gap between an electromagnetic sensor mounted in the frame and a corresponding sensing surface of the lever is changed, and thereby the paper sheet thickness is electromagnetically detected.
