    Abstract: A vibration control device of a plate-like member 11 includes: a plurality of piezoelectric element actuators 14; at least one piezoelectric element sensor 15; and a control circuit 17 that performs feedback control of operation of the piezoelectric element actuators 14 based on an output voltage of the piezoelectric element sensor 15 so as to suppress vibration of the plate-like member 11. A layout of the piezoelectric element sensor 15 and the piezoelectric element actuators 14 is set such that anti-resonance occurs in an output voltage of the piezoelectric element sensor 15 in a range where the vibration frequency of the plate-like member 11 is equal to or less than a predetermined value. Therefore, generation of noise can be prevented at the frequency. As a result, a gain can be increased at a control target frequency. Therefore, vibration can be suppressed, and noise can be reduced.

    Abstract: A device for damping a plate-shaped member includes a piezoelectric element actuator, a piezoelectric element sensor, and a control circuit which carries out feedback control of operation of the piezoelectric element actuator based on an output voltage from the piezoelectric element sensor so as to suppress vibration of the plate-shaped member. The control circuit includes a low pass filter which reduces a high frequency gain of a voltage inputted into the piezoelectric element actuator in a region in which a vibrational frequency of the plate-shaped member is a predetermined value or greater. Therefore, amplification of vibration in such a frequency region can be suppressed. Accordingly, a feedback gain is increased by a control objective frequency, so that vibration can be suppressed, and noise accompanying the vibration can be reduced.

    Abstract: A pair of rear floor frames extend in a fore-and-aft direction in a lower part of a vehicle body. A pair of rear horizontal frames extend in the fore-and-aft direction above corresponding rear wheels. A door beam extends in the fore-and-aft direction in each side door in alignment with the corresponding rear horizontal frame. A pair of rear vertical frames each extend vertically behind the corresponding rear wheel and join rear ends of the corresponding rear floor frame and rear horizontal frame to each other. In a rear end crash with a vehicle having a front bumper at a relatively high position, the rear vertical frames allow the impact energy of the rear end crash to be evenly distributed, and deformation of the passenger compartment is minimized. The rear horizontal frames allow the impact energy to be transmitted to the door beams, contributing to reinforcement of the passenger compartment.

At the time of a rear end crash, the spare tire is tilted substantially to an upright orientation around the front end, and the spare tire pan is deformed in such that the rear bottom folded upon a front bottom wall in the shape of letter Z as seen from side so that the spare tire pan provides a long deformation stroke, and is utilized for absorbing the impact energy of the rear end crash. Preferably, the rear bottom comprises an elevated horizontal part and a stepped portion defining a front edge of the elevated horizontal part.

A corrugated sheet having a plurality of longitudinally oriented ridges is disposed in a space formed by the left and right floor frame members and the crossmembers. Left and right side portions of the corrugated sheet are connected to the left and right floor frame members. Front and rear edge portions of the corrugated sheet are connected to opposite ones of the crossmembers. If the right floor frame member, for example, is subjected to a load upon an offset collision of the vehicle, the load is transmitted to the left floor frame via the corrugated sheet for dispersion.
