Abstract: High-contrast light-sensitive silver halide photographic material which comprises a support, a silver halide emulsion layer containing silver halide and another hydrophilic colloidal layer coated on the support, at least one of said silver halide emulsion layer and another hydrophilic colloidal layer containing a substantially non-diffusible compound having oxidizing power on a hydroquinone developing agent, and the thickness, in an aqueous solution having the composition described as in the specification kept at 23.degree. C., of said at least one layer being from 1.2-4.5 times that of said layer dried in an atmosphere at 23.degree. C. at a relative humidity of 55%.

Abstract: The present invention is directed towards a silver halide photographic material which has a reducing agent for silver halide or a precursor thereof and a compound M.sub.1 H.sub.m (PO.sub.n).sub.i.jH.sub.2 O which generates base when heat is applied. M is a metal from the Groups IA and IIA of the Periodic Table, 1 and i are individually integers from 1 to 3, m is an integer from 0 to 4, n is 3 or 4, and j is an integer from 0 to 12.

Abstract: A photosensitive material having a photosensitive layer provided on a support which photosensitive layer comprises a photosensitive compound which forms a color dye directly under irradiation of ultraviolet rays, the compound being represented by the formula [i]: ##STR1## wherein [COUP] represent a 4-equivalent yellow, magenta or cyan coupler from which a hydrogen is removed at a coupling position thereof, B is a hydroxy group or ##STR2## wherein R.sup.6 and R.sup.7 are individually an alkyl group or they may form a 1-piperidino, 1-piperazino, 1-pyrolidino or 4-morpholino group together with each other,R.sup.1 is an alkyl, aryl, alkylamino or arylamino group, and R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 individually are a hydrogen or halogen atom or aliphatic or aromatic group, or R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 may be fused to form a naphthalene ring.

Abstract: In the process for preparing impregnated polymer latex compositions by impregnating a hydrophobic substance in dispersed polymer particles in an aqueous polymer latex, the improvement comprises impregnating said hydrophobic substance, wherein the impregnation is effected by mixing said hydrophobic substance which is solid state, a water-miscible organic solvent and aqueous polymer latex wherein a polymer of the polymer latex is prepared from ethene monomers and containing at least one hydrophilic group.

Abstract: In a process for providing a color image which comprises imagewise exposing a multilayered light-sensitive photographic material comprising a support and a light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer not having a coupler incorporated therein and thereafter developing said exposed photographic material with a coupler-containing color developer, the speed and color density of the image are improved by incorporating into the light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer or the layer contiguous therewith oil particles of a high boiling solvent such as phthalate, phosphate, amide and alcohol type solvents.

Abstract: A light-sensitive silver halide photographic material comprising a m-aminophenol type coupler of the structure particularly defined therein is disclosed, which can successfully yield an excellent image stable against oxidation.

Abstract: An improved process for forming an amplified dye image on an image-wise, exposed light-sensitive silver halide photographic material is described, which, after developing, is processed with an amplifying solution the improvement being in that (a) the coupler is in stoichiometric excess of at least 50% relative to the amount of silver halide, (b) the dry thickness ratio of the hydrophilic colloid layer to the silver halide emulsion layer is 1 to 10 and (c) the amplifying solution contains hydrogen peroxide.

Abstract: A light-sensitive silver halide photographic material containing a substantially non-diffusible compound having oxidation power on a hydroquinone developing agent in a hydrophilic colloidal layer is processed, after light exposure, with a developer containing the said hydroquinone developing agent to form a high-contrast silver image.

Abstract: There is disclosed a process for the production of a dye image on a silver halide photograhic material which comprises imagewise exposing the photographic material to light and then subjecting the photographic material to development in the presence of both a particular polyfunctional coupler and a particular polyfunctional developing agent.

Abstract: An exposed light-sensitive silver halide photographic material containing a coupler is processed with a developing bath and thereafter with an amplifying bath containing hydrogen peroxide, said process being characterized in that a compound acting on the silver halide at the unexposed portion of the photographic material is incorporated into the developing bath or into a bath used for a treatment effected after the development and before processing with the amplifying bath.

Abstract: An improved method for processing an imagewise exposed light-sensitive silver halide photographic material containing a coupler is described, wherein the siliver halide photographic material is processed with a developing bath and thereafter processed, in the presence of imagewise developed silver and a color developing agent, with a solution containing hydrogen peroxide, whereby, after the development, the developed light-sensitive silver halide photographic material is processed with a solution containing a deactivating agent or a silver halide solvent, and thereafter subjecting the thus processed light-sensitive silver halide photographic material to spraying with and/or intermittent dipping in said solution containing hydrogen peroxide.

Abstract: A silver photosensitive material comprising a development inhibitor-releasing compound of the formula ##EQU1## wherein Z is an atomic group necessary to form a 5 to 7 membered saturated or unsaturated carbon ring with the carbon atoms to which it is attached, said ring being unsubstituted or substituted by at least one of halogen and a member of the class consisting of alkyl, aryl, alkoxy, acyloxy, aryloxy, SY and a group forming a condensed carbon ring with said saturated or unsaturated carbon ring; Y is arylmercapto, heterocyclic, thioglycollic acid, cystein or glutathione. A method for the development of silver halide photosensitive material by the use of the foregoing compound is also disclosed.

Abstract: This invention relates to a development inhibitor-releasing compound of the following general formula: ##SPC1##Wherein Z is an atomic grouping necessary to form a carbocyclic ring; Y is a group which, when the sulfur atom of the thioether linkage is released, forms together with said sulfur atom a compound having a development-inhibiting action; and X is a hydroxyl group or a substituted or non-substituted amino group.
