Patent number: 11775978Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media utilized for event-based authentication. One method includes recognizing an event and receiving, from a device, a withdrawal request of a user, wherein the withdrawal request includes a captured feature by the device. The method further includes determining that the user is associated with the recognized event using at least a geographic proximity between the event and the withdrawal request, wherein the geographic proximity is a given radius around a location of the event, and wherein the device is within the given radius and adjusting authentication rules based on the determination that the user is associated with the recognized event, wherein the adjustment of the authentication rules includes adjusting a matching threshold between the captured feature and a reference feature. The method further includes processing the withdrawal request for the user based on the adjusted authentication rules.Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 2021Date of Patent: October 3, 2023Assignee: Wells Fargo Bank, N.A.Inventors: Michael Chang, John Chuprevich, Kevin R. Patent number: 11373176Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes receiving, by a federated identity computing system, identity information from a customer; receiving, by the computing system, preferences for the identity information from the customer, wherein the preferences govern distribution of the identity information to requesting parties; generating, by the computing system, a key specific to the customer; and provisioning, by the computing system, the key to an identification chip associated with the customer. The computer-implemented method further includes receiving, by the computing system, the key and a request for one or more pieces of the identity information from a requesting party and providing, by the computing system, the requested one or more pieces of identity information to the requesting party based on the key and the preferences.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2018Date of Patent: June 28, 2022Assignee: Wells Fargo Bank, N.A.Inventors: Jana L. Patent number: 11301847Abstract: An example method includes receiving an encrypted biometric enrollment data and user identifier data. The encrypted biometric enrollment data includes at least one biometric enrollment sample from a user encrypted using an encryption key. The encryption key is generated based on a user secret and the user identifier is associated with the user. The user identifier is matched with a stored user secret. A decryption key is generated based on the stored user secret. The encrypted biometric enrollment data is decrypted using the decryption key. The at least one biometric enrollment sample is retrieved from the decrypted biometric enrollment data. The at least one biometric enrollment sample is processed using a biometric processing algorithm to generate a biometric reference template. A biometric reference template identifier uniquely identifying the biometric reference template is generated. An encryption key is generated based on the stored user secret and encrypts an enrollment confirmation message.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 2018Date of Patent: April 12, 2022Assignee: Wells Fargo Bank, N.A.Inventors: Michael Chang, Traci Nguyen, Cong Phan, Marria Rhodriquez, Darrell L. Patent number: 11050738Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure are directed to authenticating a user at an electronic computing device. Information is received from a defined zone of an environment surrounding the user. A level of authentication is calculated for the user based on the information from the defined zone of the environment. When the level of authentication is greater than or equal to a predetermined threshold, the user is authenticated at the electronic computing device to perform a requested activity.Type: GrantFiled: October 9, 2019Date of Patent: June 29, 2021Assignee: Wells Fargo Bank, N.A.Inventors: Wayne Barakat, Sotirios K. Barkas, Michael Chang, Laura Marie Fontana, Julio Jiron, Beth S. Moss, Traci Nguyen, Paul Vittimberga
