  • Patent number: 11708163
Abstract: A static aircraft seat privacy panel may include a body. At least a portion of a surface of the body may be shaped to at least partially conform with at least a portion of an aircraft seat. A lower edge of the body may be configured to couple to a floor via a set of floor-mounted components. The set of floor-mounted components may be within the floor separate from a set of seat tracks of an aircraft seat compliant with 16G force requirements for aviation transport. An upper edge of the body may be configured to be offset a selected distance from a surface of one or more overhead structures of the aircraft cabin when the body is coupled to one or more structures positioned proximate to a ceiling of the aircraft cabin. The static aircraft seat privacy panel may be compliant with 9G force requirements for aviation transport.

  • Publication number: 20220388664
Abstract: An aircraft interior structure for an aircraft cabin may include a main body with a plurality of walls, where at least one wall of the plurality of walls may be shared with an adjacent passenger suite including an aircraft seat. The passenger suite may be installed at an angle relative to an aisle of the aircraft cabin. The aircraft interior structure may include a cavity defined within the main body. The cavity may be a trapezoidal shape defined at least in part by the angle at which the passenger suite is installed in the aircraft cabin. The cavity may be configured to receive a plurality of galley carts. A length of each of the plurality of galley carts may be dependent on a depth of the cavity at respective locations in the trapezoidal shape.

  • Patent number: 11427327
Abstract: An aircraft seat may include an upper aircraft seat assembly, a lower aircraft seat assembly, and a frame actuation assembly configured to actuate the upper aircraft seat assembly relative to the lower aircraft seat assembly. The lower aircraft seat assembly may include at least one spring coupled to a foundation with a sloped actuation surface configured to cause the upper aircraft seat assembly to be at a decreased height when in a bed position. The compressing of the at least one spring may be configured to counterbalance a load within the aircraft seat and generate a controlled actuation of the upper aircraft seat assembly from an upright position to the bed position. A return force provided by the at least one spring may assist the frame actuation assembly during actuation of the upper aircraft seat assembly from the decreased height of the bed position to the upright position.

  • Publication number: 20220106044
Abstract: A slanted aircraft seat privacy panel may include a body. The body may be defined by a contour line along at least a portion of a height of the body. The contour line may be a straight line slanted at an angle relative to a vertical line. The vertical line may be defined relative to a floor of the aircraft cabin. The contour line being slanted may generate increased shoulder space in the passenger compartment in the aircraft cabin. The increased shoulder space in the passenger compartment may use a portion of non-fully utilized space in an adjacent passenger compartment in the aircraft cabin. The passenger compartment and the adjacent passenger compartment may be offset relative to an aisle in the aircraft cabin. A portion of each of the passenger compartment and the adjacent passenger compartment may be formed by the slanted aircraft seat privacy panel.

  • Publication number: 20060263164
Abstract: A passenger seat for a vehicle is mounted by an extendible stud assembly which includes a housing attached to the seat; and a movable plunger carried by the housing and including a locking stud adapted for engaging a locking track. The housing is constructed such that movement of the stud relative to the housing under an applied load causes deformation of the housing which resists the motion. This controlled motion of the locking stud allows a deck of the aircraft to deform under crash loads without imposing excessive loads on the passenger seat.

  • Patent number: 6692069
Abstract: A reclining passenger seat, including a seat frame for being attached to a supporting deck, a seat bottom carried by the seat frame, and a seat back carried by the seat frame and moveable with the seat bottom from and between the upright and sleep positions. A legrest assembly is mounted adjacent a forward end of the seat bottom for being selectively extended generally downwardly and outwardly from the seat bottom for supporting the legs of the passenger. An armrest assembly is carried by the seat frame and includes an armrest moveable between a horizontal position with an upper support surface supporting a forearm of the seat occupant in the upright seat position and a forwardly-inclined, lowered position wherein the upper support surface is aligned with an upper surface of the seat bottom for providing a wider sleeping surface for the seat occupant when the seat is in the fully-reclined sleep position.
