  • Patent number: 10614173
Abstract: The disclosed subject matter provides a system, computer readable storage medium, and a method providing an audio and textual transcript of a communication. A conferencing services may receive audio or audio visual signals from a plurality of different devices that receive voice communications from participants in a communication, such as a chat or teleconference. The audio signals representing voice (speech) communications input into respective different devices by the participants. A translation services server may receive over a separate communication channel the audio signals for translation into a second language. As managed by the translation services server, the audio signals may be converted into textual data. The textual data may be translated into text of different languages based the language preferences of the end user devices in the teleconference. The translated text may be further translated into audio signals.

  • Patent number: 9123339
Abstract: Subject matter described in this specification can be embodied in methods, computer program products and systems relating to speech-to-text conversion. A first spoken input is received from a user of an electronic device (an “original utterance”). Based on the original utterance, a first set of character string candidates are determined that each represent the original utterance converted to textual characters and a selection of one or more of the character string candidates are provided in a format for display to the user. A second spoken input is received from the user and a determination is made that the second spoken input is a repeat utterance of the original utterance. Based on this determination and using the original utterance and the repeat utterance, a second set of character string candidates is determined.

  • Patent number: 8983845
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for performing audio subsystem enhancement. In one aspect, a method includes: receiving a voice search query by an automatic speech recognition (ASR) engine that processes voice search queries for a search engine, wherein the voice search query includes an audio signal that corresponds to an utterance, and a test flag that indicates that an audio test is being performed; performing speech recognition on the audio signal to select one or more textual, candidate transcriptions that match the utterance; generating, in response to receiving the test flag, one or more audio quality metrics using the audio signal; and generating a response to the voice search query by the ASR engine, wherein the response references one or more of the candidate transcriptions and one or more of the audio quality metrics.
