The UFP device and the DFP device are connected via an extension medium to allow the DisplayPort source device to provide video and/or audio for presentation by the DisplayPort sink device. In some embodiments, the UFP device and/or the DFP device may be configured to provide video extracted from the DisplayPort communication to an external video processing device for processing before and/or after transmission over the extension medium.
