  • Publication number: 20030157523
Abstract: The invention relates to biological arrays, biological microarrays, and methods of using the arrrays and microarrays to detect the amount and/or presence of a biological molecule in a biological sample. Biological arrays of the invention comprise a solidified, sectionable matrix comprising a plurality of wells disposed therein and one or more biological samples disposed within the plurality of wells, which biological arrays optionally comprise an internal standard preparation and/or an orientation marker. Sections or slices of the biological arrays are mounted on a planar substrate surface to form cellular microarrays of the invention. In alternative cellular microarrays of the invention, the matrix material is a temperature-sensitive material removable from the microarray leaving cellular biological material on the substrate surface.
