Abstract: Included are embodiments for communicating data using a plurality of formats. At least one embodiment of a method includes transmitting a plurality of first format data frames with a predetermined time period between transmitted first format data frames and determining a duration of the time period between the transmitted first format data frames. Similarly, some embodiments include fragmenting a second format data frame into a plurality of second format subframes such that the second format subframes may be transmitted during the time period between the transmitted first format data frames.

Abstract: Embodiments of sleep mode systems and methods are disclosed. In one method embodiment, among others, a sleep mode method comprises commencing a sleep mode, and during the sleep mode, queuing a plurality of frames for a burst transmission.

Abstract: A tool for providing a site survey of a wireless network. In one embodiment the tool includes a network server, a plurality of access points and a mobile client. The network server is used to create and distribute data packets. The plurality of access points are coupled to send and receive data packets from the server. The mobile client is in wireless communication with the plurality of access points. The client has a two-dimensional surface area map on a data grid. The client includes instruction to compute throughput and packet error rate at selected locations within a network coverage area when the client receives data packets sent by the network server. The client displays the throughput and packet error rate on the two-dimensional surface area map to provide a site survey of the wireless network coverage.
