Publication number: 20240174018Abstract: A substrate is printed with front side and back side markings in a first color ink. The front side when viewed with reflected light includes a first marking printed in a first saturation and a first symbol printed in the first saturation. The back side when viewed with reflected light includes: a second marking printed in a second saturation; a second symbol printed in the second saturation; a third marking printed in the first saturation; and a third symbol printed in the first saturation. The first marking, the second marking, and the third marking are printed to provide an interlocking pattern of low saturation color and high saturation color when viewed with transmitted light. The second symbol is visible, and the first symbol and the third symbol are visible and indistinguishable, when viewed with transmitted light.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 2, 2024Publication date: May 30, 2024Applicant: The Government of the United States of America, as represented by the Secretary of Homeland SecurityInventors: Joel Zlotnick, Jordan Brough, Troy Eberhardt, Tyra McConnell, Elizabeth Gil, Traci Moran

Patent number: 11117719Abstract: A container cap with a body having a lower portion with internal threads for connecting to a container, and an upper portion defining a main opening. The upper cap portion having a first surface defining a partial opening and a stem protruding through the main opening. The lower cap portion having a second surface defining a partial opening. The upper and lower cap portions configured to rotate with respect to one another such that the partial openings align between a closed position and an open position to selectively permit fluid flow therethrough. A method for capping a container.Type: GrantFiled: January 8, 2021Date of Patent: September 14, 2021Inventor: Troy McConnell

Patent number: 6934841Abstract: A system for customizing individual internet access includes a server that registers a user with the system, stores information pertaining to internet sites the user is authorized to access, and controls the user's access to internet sites. A carding station is provided to enter personal identification information about the user and information regarding internet sites the user is authorized to access into the system. The carding station also generates a personal smart card for the user that includes a read only memory storing a serial number that correlates with data about the user stored in the server. An internet station is provided to allow the user to view the internet only with his or her personal smart card. While accessing the internet, the server controls the user's access to internet sites based on whether the information stored in the server indicates that the user is authorized to access the specific internet sites that are requested to be displayed.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2004Date of Patent: August 23, 2005Assignee: 3M Innovative Properties CompanyInventors: Stephen L. Boyles, Richard C. Leinecker, Jochen E. Fischer, Clyde G. Moody, Jr., Troy McConnell, Ken Wilkinson

Patent number: 6057931Abstract: The present invention provides a color-control method for use in an image reproducing process where the image is reduced to a plurality of pixels, with each pixel having a color value. The color control method uses a color control program in the image reproduction process. The color control program includes a color correction module and a color separation module. The color correction program provides a method for using HSL values to select which pixels will be color corrected. The color-separation program is used to convert RGB color values to YMCK color values and provides for undercolor removal and black generation. Undercolor removal removes gray components from the hue pixel data and replaces it with black pixel data. The black generation routine provides for the selection of pixels for which black will be added by the input of selected parameter of an HSL slice range.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 1996Date of Patent: May 2, 2000Assignee: MCI Telecommunications CorporationInventors: Troy McConnell, Allan C.
