Publication number: 20060081401Abstract: A sealing device for downhole use, one of which is for casing, when drilling with casing, which allows the casing to be closed off if the bottom hole assembly needs to come out for any reason. In one embodiment, the internal packer is triggered to set in a variety of ways upon removal of the bottom hole assembly. It can be drilled out when the new bottom hole assembly is run in later. In an alternative design, a flapper can be used that is held open for the initial insertion of the bottom hole assembly and is released to spring shut upon removal of the assembly. Multiple flappers or packers or other types of closure devices are envisioned to allow removal of the bottom hole assembly more than once and still retain blowout protection on each removal of the bottom hole assembly. A variety of applications are contemplated some of which are perforation, side tracking, fracturing, and gravel packing, to name a few examples.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 20, 2004Publication date: April 20, 2006Inventors: Troy Miller, Edward Wood

Publication number: 20050246015Abstract: A corneal implant having an aspheric surface for modifying the cornea curvature and altering the corneal refractive power. The corneal implant has a lens body formed of an optically clear bio-compatible material, preferably with an index of refraction substantially similar to that of human corneal tissue (1.376). The aspheric surface is comprised of a continuous aspheric surface from the apex of the implant to beveled surface. The beveled surface, positioned near the outer diameter of the implant, is used to reduce the thickness of the aspheric surface on the periphery of the lens to the outer diameter edge. The body of the implant has a diameter between about 2.0 mm and 7.0 mm and a thickness less than about 0.150 mm.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 30, 2004Publication date: November 3, 2005Inventor: Troy Miller

Patent number: 6875160Abstract: An elliptical exercise apparatus including a frame, a crank, a pair of guide tracks, and a pair of flexibly resilient foot supports that provide elliptical exercises. Each foot support comprises a leaf spring and a foot engagement pad configured to receive the foot of a user. The foot engagement pads rotate in elliptical paths and the leaf springs flex in varying degree to accommodate for varying forces and gaits of different users. The leaf springs provide upward biasing forces in direct response to sudden and irregular downward forces, thereby flexing to improve the feel of the exercise.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2001Date of Patent: April 5, 2005Assignee: Icon IP, Inc.Inventors: Scott R. Patent number: 6837344Abstract: A damper includes a piston that carries a relatively compact control valve for controlling fluid flow through the piston. The control valve provides a variable amount of damping by regulating damper fluid flow between the extension chamber and the compression chamber of the damper during extension and compression strokes. Pressure regulation across the piston is controlled through a flow path as determined by the control valve. The damping force of the damper varies depending upon the loading conditions of the vehicle. The control valve is air pressure actuated to adjust the damping force and control the flow of fluid in the flow path. The piston and rod assembly include unique features such as a seal plate design, and spring retainer that aid in the efficient and reliable assembly in a commercial production setting.Type: GrantFiled: January 11, 2002Date of Patent: January 4, 2005Assignee: Delphi Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Troy A. Miller, Michael L. Oliver, William C. Kruckemeyer
