  • Patent number: 6659438
Abstract: A mount with a first attachment member; a second attachment member spaced from the first attachment member; and resilient members joining the first and second attachment members, each of the resilient members having at least one void, the voids being collapsible under loading between a first open void condition where the mount has a first substantially constant stiffness, and a second collapsed condition where the voids are substantially closed, the mount having a second substantially constant stiffness when the voids are in the second collapsed condition.

Abstract: A mount comprising a first attachment member; a second attachment member spaced from the first attachment member; and at least one resilient member joining the first and second attachment members, each of the at least one resilient members comprising at least one void, each of said at least one voids being collapsible under loading between a first open void condition where the mount has a first substantially constant stiffness, and a second collapsed condition where the at least one void is substantially closed, the mount having a second substantially constant stiffness when each of the at least one void is in the second collapsed condition.

  • Patent number: 6357732
Abstract: An resilient member for a side bearing assembly includes a first rigid element extending in a linear direction and having a first end and a second end. A second rigid element extends in the linear direction of the first rigid element spaced from the first rigid element to provide a space between the two. The second element also has a first end. The first end of the second element is displaced along the linear direction away from the first end of the first rigid element. Resilient or elastomeric material fills the space between the first rigid element and the second rigid element with a substantially concave profile connecting the first ends of the two elements. The resilient material includes at least one weakened region along the substantially concave portion thereof as a result of assembly, which is located where the resilient material is subjected to the relatively lower stresses and strains when used in a side bearing assembly.
