  • Publication number: 20020039476
Abstract: There is provided a clip for retaining and controlling the bend radius of signal carrying cable such as fiber optic cable. The clip may be used in association with electronic equipment, such as telecommunications switching equipment. The clip retains and guides at least one fiber optic cable connecting a communications network to electronic circuitry units which form part of the electronic equipment. In compliance with Bellcore standards, the clip provides means for bend radius control which ensures that the fiber optic cable does not have a bend radius of less than one inch as it is dressed between the electronic circuitry units and the communications network. By retaining one or more cables, the clip is intended to minimize that fiber optic cable catches on the equipment and clothing of service personnel. Furthermore, by keeping the cables associated with an electronic circuitry unit together, service personnel are less likely to make mistakes when reattaching cables.
