  • Patent number: 4723568
Abstract: A hose reel mechanism designed for carrying two separate, yet interconnected, lengths of hose includes a tubular metal frame which is provided with support wheels, a supporting base portion and a handle portion. Carried by this frame are two substantially identical hose reels, each of which are supported by an axle, the ends of each axle being secured by the sides of the frame. Each reel is designed to receive a length of hose wherein the hose disposed on the lower reel connects to the faucet and the hose on the upper reel is used for watering at a remote-use location. As the frame is moved away from the faucet, the hose wound on the lower reel is able to unwind automatically and once the frame is positioned at the desired location, the length of hose on the upper reel may be pulled at its free end for unwinding that hose from the top reel.

  • Patent number: 4616589
Abstract: An anchor retriever for deploying an anchor from a boat into the water and for retrieving the anchor from the water includes a base portion having a metal plate for attachment directly to the boat and a synthetic material guide providing a sliding channel arrangement for a movable carriage. Pivotally attached to the movable carriage is an anchor retention assembly which provides the actual anchor holder portion which pivots from a substantially horizontal to a substantially vertical orientation as the anchor goes from a stowed orientation to a deployed orientation into the water. When the anchor is retrieved it applies force on certain portions of the retriever assembly, these portions are then allowed to come out of locking engagement whereby the anchor retention assembly pivots from its vertical orientation to its horizontal orientation as it goes from a deployed condition to a stowed condition.

  • Patent number: 4057024
Abstract: An anchor incorporating an arrangement for releasing the anchor when it becomes snagged on large rocks or other objects. One embodiment includes a blocking element which is positioned in the elongated anchor body to prevent the anchor arms from moving out of a radially extending position to a position in which they extend longitudinally of the body. The blocking element is spring biased into its blocking position and has a sleeve thereon which is also spring biased to a position wherein the sleeve holds the anchor arms away from the blocking element. A sharp jerk on the anchor line causes the blocking element to move in the elongated anchor body out of blocking position releasing the anchor. Another embodiment includes a blocking element similarly positioned in an elongated anchor body. A striker element is mounted on the anchor body and connected to the anchor line and is spring biased to a position spaced from the blocking element.
