Abstract: Disclosed is a combination remote control fishing device comprising a remote control device for carrying a line/float assembly to a desired location in the water, an automatic capstan for line recovering and releasing, and control components for these items. A variable slippage clutch is provided on the capstan which permits high speed retrieval of small or weakened fishes. Clutch slippage permits operation of the capstan motor without damage when a large or very strong fish is struggling on the line during retrieval.
