    Abstract: A method for modifying the surface properties of polymer substrates which is expedient and effective to give printability, adhesiveness and other desirable properties to the surfaces of polymer substrates is set forth. The method comprises the steps of: subjecting the surfaces to electric discharge treatment, then applying a photopolymerizable composition to the surfaces and irradiating the layer of photopolymerizable composition on the substrate surfaces with actinic rays, thereby photo-grafting the radically polymerizable compound contained in the photopolymerizable composition to the surfaces of the polymer substrates.
