  • Publication number: 20020092748
Abstract: An improved safety switch for turning power supply on or off, or switching different specifications of power supply, signals, systems or the like includes a casing, a terminal set located in the casing, a switch element located in the casing, and a press element located at the upper rim of the casing. The press element has a press section which includes two slant planes capable of receiving external force to perform switching or change movement. When the press section is undergoing the switching movement, one of the slant planes will be moved and positioned at about the horizontal level to an opening of the casing formed at the upper rim, and another slant plane will be moved into the casing to form a recess below the upper rim at another opening so that mistaken activation of the switch may be avoided.

  • Patent number: 5898145
Abstract: A computer key includes a base plate, a membrane circuit, a foil sheet, a biasing member, a push button, and first and second linking frames. The base plate includes a first hingeably retaining member and a first slidably retaining guideway spaced from each other in a longitudinal direction and formed with first and second retaining portions for blocking movement in an upward and normal direction. The membrane circuit is disposed on the base plate, and has left and right openings for extension of the first and second retaining portions therethrough. The foil sheet is superimposed on the membrane circuit to sandwich a lower flange on the biasing member therebetween. The first and second linking frames have first and second linking arms connected pivotally at intermediate portions to permit extension of the biasing member such that the latter is disposed between the push button and the base plate.

  • Patent number: 5842798
Abstract: A computer key includes two pairs of pivotally connected linking arms disposed between a base plate and a push button. The push button has a hingeably groove defining portion that defines a hinging axis transverse to said longitudinal direction, and a second slidably retaining guideway disposed in an underside thereof. The groove defining portion includes front and rear bearing support members spaced apart from each other along the hinging axis. The front and rear bearing support members have front and rear outboard walls in the hinging axis and define a distance which is larger than that between two hooking ends of a pair of the linking arms. The front and rear outboard walls have front and rear recesses respectively to form front and rear bearing surfaces respectively transverse to the front and rear outboard walls and facing upwardly toward the underside of the push button.

  • Patent number: 5717177
Abstract: A common conductor unit for a contact switch includes a conductor body and a movable contact arm. The conductor body includes a U-shaped mounting unit that has upright first and second arm mounting portions and an elongated horizontal connecting portion which interconnects lower end edges of the arm mounting portions. Each of the arm mounting portions has one side which is opposite to the other one of the arm mounting portions and which is formed with a respective horizontal retaining groove. The contact arm is formed as an elongated plate and has a first end portion and a second end portion which is provided with a spring extension unit that extends toward the first end portion. One of the mounting unit and the contact arm is formed with a longitudinal opening to permit extension of the other one of the mounting unit and the contact arm when the contact arm is moved upwardly relative to the conductor body.
