    Abstract: The present invention provides a practical device which can hold data even if the power is shut OFF, and more particularly to a data holding device which has a high detection margin at data restoration and has high reliability. The data holding device 1 comprises a data latch circuit 3 and a composite capacitor 5. The data holding device 1 can store the data in the ferroelectric capacitors 17 and 19 in a non-volatile way. A voltage the same as the power supply voltage VDD is applied across the composite capacitor 5 where the ferroelectric capacitors 17 and 19 are connected in a series, and data is restored by detecting the voltage which is generated at the connection node 5a at this time. As a result, the detection margin can be dramatically increased.

    Abstract: The system is used for imprinting indentification code on individuals of articles such as automobiles produced in quantity, particularly on an assembly line, and comprises an instruction unit to provide a data signal representing an identification code to be imprinted, a stamping machine in which setting of imprinting types is performed automatically according to the data signal, a sensor which provides a signal representing an actual state of the type setting, and a comparator which provides an operation signal to the stamping machine only when the signal from the sensor agrees with the data signal and otherwise provides an alarm signal. For further accuracy of imprinting operation, the system may include a sensor to detect the type of the individual article to be imprinted and another comprator to prevent the action of the stamping machine also when the type of the article differs from one implied by the data signal.

    Abstract: An apparatus for and a method of automatically assembling a body structure of an automobile body, in which side panels are downwardly conveyed into first temporary positions over a floor panel and adjacent jig means, adjusted for proper positions relative to the jig means, moved into second temporary positions, clamped by the jig means, moved from the second temporary positions into final working positions ready to be welded to the floor panel which has been conveyed into a working position thereof, and welded to the floor panel into a unitary structure. The side panels are initially held in positions horizontally close to each other and are gradually moved toward positions horizontally spaced wider from each other as the side panels are conveyed downwardly. The apparatus and method may be modified so that not only the floor panel and the side panels by a cowl-and-dash-panel subassembly and/or a parcel shelf member are assembled together.
